If you are able to get into developer mode on your wireless CarPlay, you can toggle it off and turn it into wireless. I did it with my k5 since I thought it came with wireless only but I didn’t like it much since it kept disconnecting for no reason sometimes. So I did some research on how to unlock developer mode and sure enough I was able to switch to wired.

I've been on the fence about getting one but you mentioned your veh has to have apple wired car place for this to work. I have 2024 Chevy Trax with wireless car play. So this will not work on that vehicle? Thank you for the video!

My question is. Will this thing use my data? I want to be able to have youtube or netflix on for my girlfriend on half the screen while im driving with directions on the other side. I know alot of these use your wifi connection to them and I dont want to have to make a wifi hotspot from my phone just to connect this thing everytime.

I listen to author interviews and podcasts on YouTube with my iPhone when I drive. Can I just continue to do that but have the maps on the car’s display? Or, if it’s connected to the phone, does it prohibit this? We’re looking to buy a new Toyota Highlander, and it comes with CarPlay. Thanks.
