Many of us are starting to fear, “We’re never going back to normal!” but should we?

Was what we used to call normal, before we landed in the middle of a worldwide pandemic, actually as great as we remember it? Weren’t we complaining two months ago about the very people and things that today we wish we could get back?

In this message, Pastor Steven Furtick of Elevation Church uses Exodus 14 verses 10-15 and Romans 12 verses 1-2 to teach us that, “What the world calls weird, is what God calls normal.”

Breaking people out of bondage to fear, addictions, negative thought patterns, busyness or whatever, is not a new thing for God. It’s what He has been doing for people for thousands of years. God isn’t trying to “get things back to normal.” He’s calling us into a new normal.

In the midst of this crisis we can see that, “Our faith finally fits.” It is clear to everyone right now that what is unseen is most significant. We, the people of God, need to respond, not in fear, but in faith, and start Looking Forward To Normal.

There is a guy, whom I met at a school I was admitted into, because I was expelled from someone's house when I was 10; 18 year later, this guy introduced me to my present day wife, Perla, who was a friend of his youger sister. That guy offered my first formal job, which I have kept for the previous 33 years already. This guy was a good friend of a lady, who turned to be my real mother (since I was stolen from her home when I was 40 days old); neither she knew that guy was a life long friend of her lost son, neither I knew he has met my mother for years before, neither he knew he was a friend of both of us, strangers to each other. Yes, I need to rock, Lord.

Bless you pastor Steven that God led me to find you! Ive been going through a terrible struggle. God loves me souch that he HAD to remove the person I lived the most from my life. It was a horrible dramatic experience and deeply hurtful that it hurt my spirit and plunged me into depression. Struggling to accept that God HAD to make me go through this to lead me back to him and leave that unhealthy " normal " behind and live HIS normal!!! Not coincidence I heard your words today!
