I love when he hits the mute button! Don't call in if you aren't going to listen!

Dave hit the nail on the head with this one. When you don’t have a plan you aren’t able to measure if you are on track to where you want to be. Short term and Long term planning is vital in your Financial Planning if you want to be on the path to Financial Freedom.

She's off. I can tell that her plan is all over the place. Keep them in prayer and hopefully Dave's advice points them in the right direction.

LOL Dave says “no, no you do not rent out your house and then comeback to it you will be sadly disappointed “. It’s the truth I did this, I needed this video in my 20’s 😂

This call was frustrating. A lot of vague answers that you can tell they haven't made a solid plan or followed Dave's steps. Starting with the horrible decision to recently refinance for lower interest rate then move and become landlords. Then him becoming a stay at home dad.

Why buy a house when you move a lot? I don't understand this family.

Dave, I love your response. "Better than I deserve." I have a similar phrase I use all the time. "Better than some, worse than others." Be well and keep doing what you do.

Iowa is an awesome state!!! We have moved a number times and ended up here. No regrets. Great cost of living, good schools, low unemployment, rated high for family

Working for myself was the best decision I made in life 15 years ago.
Invest in yourself, control your own destiny not someone else's dreams!!

They should stay where they are, he already has a permanent position. She can go ahead and find job. Together they can make enough money to pay off debt.

While no job is "permanent", there is more security with a full time job. He should keep what he's got. A 3 year contract that pays more, isn't worth it in the long run. Contracts can be broken or terminated early. So they'd be worse off than they are now. You put down roots where you are, let them grow. If they need more income he either needs to get better skills/job and/or she needs to get a job.

I moved for a pay increase. I was there for 5 years. It was great. It launched me into a higher position. I rent tho.

Why did they buy a house when they move so much you're going to probably lose money on that

If you spend your whole life chasing more money that will always outrun you you’ll look back and your life will be gone.

Yes, it is probably worth it to move for a 67% pay increase. However, if the plan is to continue moving every few years, it might be easier to rent, rather than own. You can still work the baby steps, including paying off debt.
