How To Permanently Delete Facebook Account

Deleting your Facebook account can be a big decision, especially if you permanently remove the account and app from your phone.

In this video, I walk you through the steps you can take to permanently delete your Facebook account. I also walk you through the steps to temporarily deactivate your account if you choose to go that method. I always recommend deactivating instead of deleting accounts because the first option gives you the ability to reinstate your account and get it back at some point.

The only reason you should delete your account, in my opinion, is due to a security risk, bullying, abuse, etc. If you just don't want to use Facebook anymore, deactivate it. By doing so, your account will look as if it was deleted to everyone else, but you will still have the power to get it back at some point.

Of course, Facebook makes it not super obvious how to delete your account because they want you to stick around so they can show you ads and make money on you. However, follow these steps and you'll find the hidden settings to delete your account. You will be given 30 days to reinstate your account by logging in. If you choose not to, after those 30 days your account and all of your posts, photos, videos, etc. will be permanently deleted.

Thank you for the video, FB does make it a little challenging. I just deleted my account because FB is not for me and I have better things to do than show the world that I just went to Wal-Mart or whatever.

Facebook doze not really deactivate your acount. It's a police site. This is why they made it in the first place. Just like when u delete your tex. Yes you delete it off your phone. But is stored in a hard frame.

I keep getting "Facebook authentication failed" every time I try to delete it. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I cleared the cache, the data and even force-stopped the app. I changed the password. Nothing is working. This is so frustrating! Any ideas?
