Amex were already so stingy on SUBs, they’re getting worse

Seems like AMEX is trying to make Chase look as good as possible these days. They're doing a great job lately! Higher AFs and more strict bonus rules. Meanwhile Chase has all time high bonuses and hasn't changed most of their AFs or terms for quite a long time.

Wow. I’m SO disappointed with this. I was going to get this card as soon as I was eligible for the SUB and out of 5/24 jail! Makes me want to cancel my Gold Card! They are becoming stingy af and making it harder for the regular person to even apply! I’ll be sticking with my Chase cards!

This is not a first in the SUB game. Doesn’t Chase Sapphire have this same language that you can’t earn a SUB on a sapphire card if you’ve had or have a sapphire card in the last x amount of months?

I prefer the business AX cards and you can still get multiple SUBs and hold multiples of the same card (BBP, BBC, Hilton, Marriott).

I noticed the Hilton Honors Business card no longer says you get a free night for $15k spend. Although it's still mentioned in the terms page. If you have this card, did Amex say anything to you?

A friend with Green lacks esteem, but a friend with Gold is the best I'm told.

these changes annoy the heck out of me and make little sense. So I get their flagship card first, pay all of that money for it, and then punished to not get one of the lower tier cards that might make sense to have in my wallet. But hey, if Amex doesn't want my spend on their cards, I will give it to someone else.

Many years ago I just assumed you needed to climb the ladder Green -> Gold -> Plat to get the SUBs. Silly me 😂
