Some correction: (8/5/2024)
1. She did not delete all her social media accounts because her Facebook was still active on August 27th.
2. She reposted that picture. (rumor)
3. She is also the VA for Lynette, so she may also be recast (rumor).
4. She being fired is just a rumor, and there has been no confirmation from HoYo or the VA.

Don't get me wrong, but sometimes, i hate when people trying to edit a character, whether they trying to redesign it or changing their skin color BUT saying as if their version is 'much better' than the original where they say 'fixed it', or 'mine is better, the og sucks' it's just annoying and rude, tbh. As if you're disrespecting the original artist and that. That is why, whenever i draw, i always stick to the character's original/canon skin tone

As someone who lived in China for 2 years, the VA is lighter than A LOT of Chinese people, and the picture she posted would be an accurate representation for a chinese person's skin color. You don't even realise how crazy it gets when it comes to achieving lighter skin here.
It's the same as if an american person posted an average-sized character art instead of a skinny character and her US employer got offended and said "this shape doesn't represent our nation". Except it does. And the version they are trying to push is the beauty standart.
I went back to my home country for the summer once and came back a couple shades darker (became a 03 shade). I've had friends, neighbours, my boss tell me that I'm not pretty anymore and if I just try a couple of products and a laser I would be pretty again and it's totally fine I don't have to panic! And for me, fair skin comes back. For chinese people, especially women, they have to literally fight their own skin for their entire life. I think it would drive me absolutely crazy to do that.
