If you push on it hard it will damage engine over time probably will get half of it's life expectancy

Just picked up the new first edition. Drove 200 miles mostly mountains and some turnpike driving. Got 20 mpg. Way more power than I expected. Smooth and powerful vs the 4Runners I have. But both great just think the LC has the right power this time. Way better than expected and I think the skeptical will be proven wrong on this new LC model. Very impressive and I was skeptical. So glad I got now. The seating and instrumental panel is really good as well.

You’ll be fine! I’ve been alternating premium & regular in my GX & no problems. Talked to my mechanic brother in law & said it will be fine

Computers will adapt . I accidentally put in 87 in my g80 m3. Ended up with about 2/3 of the tank with 87 and 1/3 93 before catching my mistake .Drove it conservatively till 1/4 tank was left and filled up with 94 at Sunoco. Definitely a difference in power but no crazy pinging like older cars. I would recommend filling up with the recommended gas. I run 87 in my 5th gen 4 runner all day, hence me messing up but that is what it recommends . Best of luck .

TRD JON. I had a question. In these new turbo motors. Have you done a fuel comparison on 87 or 91? If so, is there a difference in mpg and or do they even require premium.? I know some vehicle REQUIRE premium and it’s states it in the handbook and all but do these need 91 for better fuel economy ?

If people can still read nowadays, to get the HP and Torque numbers they need the octane Tested for that engine on the owners manual. Tundra 91-93 octane gets full hp & torque with over 18-23 mpg. Landcruisers are the same. Read owners manual. If you put regular gas you will Not get the max hp & torque and gas milage plus will damage engine many miles from now.

I had a 2002 Lexus GS300 back then. Also shows Premium only.

I used 87 only for 10yrs. Had zero problem with it. I didnt use premium because it is a non-turbo 2JZ-GE engine.

But, you should use Premium in this one because it is turbocharged. Unless you can get a tune to use with lower octane. I dont know how toyota tune this engine from factory.

I already have almost 3, 000 mi on mine. Every other tank I put in premium.
And I haven't noticed any difference

Turbo cars have higher compression and require higher octane fuel to resist detonation/knocking. This is how you blow up engine up and just now recorded it for Toyota to see.. smh.

Is this engine higher compression than the Tacoma?

Do you have issues with actually filing up the gas all the way? Seems like the last 2 to 3 gallons need a lot of extra help getting into the tank.

I put 93 in my John Deere lawnmower and you’re skimping 😂
To be fair, you’ll probably have that car for less time than I have my lawnmower

I don't think you can buy leaded fuel anywhere, unless it's racing fuel

Are you going to put some miles on this? it takes 2k-3k to break in a hybrid apparently then you really start to see real world numbers.

How can you buy an expensive truck and then be cheap on gas??? Makes no sense
