It blows my mind that if a video like this was put out by Tesla it would have hundreds of thousands of views and hundreds of comments, and yet here is a clearly superior technology and this is the first comment, 6 months after the video was released! I was beginning to lose faith that we would see self driving in wide availability in my lifetime (as I am quite old), but this video has restored my faith. I hope Wayve prospers even though capital is no longer easy to raise.

As a motorcyclist I know the two most dangerous maneuvers that cars perform are turns across the lane of oncoming traffic (right turn, in the case of London) and going backwards. I noticed quite a lot of left turns here :-)

Yes, impressive to a certain extent, but by no means typical of London traffic. I'd like to see more right hand turns (or if in Europe/US etc - left hand turns). Noticeably few cyclists and no scooters. Quite untypical of London traffic now. I'd like to see a journey along the London South Circular from Woolwich to Chiswick, without getting a fine for accidentally travelling in a bus lane or being embarrasingly in the wrong lane approaching a one-way system like Wandsworth or Clapham gyratory. When that can be demonstrated successfully I'll buy in. Tesla demos are notably bland too. The latest I saw was left turn ie 270 degrees at a farly quiet roundabout (agreed not many roundabouts in US) which would have resulted in, at best, a lot of horn honking, and at worst a possible shunt. I personally think it will need car-to-car edge communicating and therefore a significant majority takeup before this will work adequately on busy rush-hour UK city roads. How we get to that level of adoption is a real puzzle.
