I found Ft Knox several years ago when we upgraded to a fifth wheel trailer. I really didn't like the standard fifth wheel hookups and went to an Anderson hitch. ...and I couldn't find a lock for it. ..until I stumbled onto Ft Knox. I bought theirs with one of their puck locks and never looked back. People take one look at the Ft Knox and ask where I got it and if I like it.

For other locks I use around my truck (receiver hitch, coupler, tool box, ...) I use bolt lock. That way i can use my truck key for most of my lock needs when I travel. Yes... you can key them to your truck keys!!!!

I love that you called out the LPL, that guy is as awesome at locks as you are with campers!!!!

After watching this we decided this lock would be good for your new RV. We got it in the mail in time. Now waiting for our RV to be delivered. Thanks.

Very useful. I like combining a good hitch lock with wheel locks, which has worked for years. I also have a GPS tracker as well, if it does go for a ride.

Lol I enjoy the tone of your voice when you mention TLPL!!! It’s like your saying “yea, yea, I know….” Don’t need a hundred people commenting!!!

Thanks for sharing this, I like that the chains can be locked up as well 👍🏾

The locks look great. Like you said if someone wants it bad enough they’ll get it off. Your average trailer thief is not a lock picker. If they can’t smash or pry it off their moving on to another one.

I love mine. Really pleased with how heavy duty it is.

I use that Fort Knox lock on my travel trailer, gives me a piece of mind. And I like how you can put the chain in the lock as well.

Those locks reminds me of the Navy’s locks but welded in place.

I'm a fan of the Fort Knox locks also. I have one for my Anderson Ultimate Hitch.

Even with that lock set up on which is nice . If they have a chain with hooks on both ends they can hook on to the spot where the chains are mounted to the trailer and be gone

Always keep in mind. Locks are to keep honest people honest.

I bought one of these ft Knox locks for our boat trailer as we are temporarily living in a apartment. The lock seems REALLY well built and will take a lot of abuse before someone gets it off. I did run into a similar problem with what you described with the curt versions but with the UFP vs UFPXR lock covers. My boatmate trailer is stamped UFP, but is really a UFPXR sized hitch. They helped me out with getting the correct one after I sent a picture with dimensions. I do use the puck lock to makes sure and make it as hard as possible.

Another thing that you could do is put your coupler lock pin through the chain so even if the managed to get a hook out it would be too short to hook up to

Great info; def on my "look-into" list of lock systems, JD. Thanks for sharing; look forward to the update/comparison.

thanks for this video. I bought this ft. knox lock after watching this, and I'm sure I have the same tongue, but can't close the latch like you did. it's too tight to close the hitch latch like you did on the second part of the video, on the pipe that sticks up into the ball socket. I already had to take my angle grinder to the center area of the lid part that swings over the ball, to get it to close all the way. It needed just a tiny bit of relief there. I think I will do the same on the pipe where I can see it hitting to provide a little relief there too. this is a keeper, but needs slight modification for my tongue. 1/2 hour later... that worked ground out where the part that clamps the ball, making the pipe a little more ball shaped, that works! needed some touch up with a cutoff wheel on my dremel, and good to go. I swear, I never seem to buy something that just fits. always needs modification.

As you so correctly say, the crook sees something like this and immediately looks for something easier to steal!

Flatbed hauler will take that also, I know it’s a deterrent
A couple years back they took my enclosed trailer with tongue lock and 2 wheels removed, if they want it they will take it

This video came up right next to Lock Picking Lawyer's latest video in my Subscription's feed. 😆

It got me thinking that maybe you two could do a collaboration: You use all your different tricks to make the lock more secure like you were doing in this video and LPL tries to find the weaknesses.
