George Jones won the song of the year, by the CMA. The song was
"He stopped Loving her today." But when George Jones went to perform his song: CMA producers cut George Jones short on time.

Alan Jackson thought this wrong, it being "Song of the year." So, when Alan Jackson was to sing his song: Alan Jackson sang George Jones song, "He stopped Loving her today." And to show his disapproval Alan Jackson immediately turned his back to the cameraz, carrying his guitar walked off the stage in protest, by NOT SAYING A WORD.
Alan Jacksons' protest said volumes.
Alan Jackson is a
TRUE SOUTHERN GENTLEMAN.

Alan Jackson is pure country and always has been and don’t put up with BS…it’s called respect and appreciation for country music and goes who gone before.

I love it when people stand together for an honorable purpose. Especially when they compete for the same goals.

That’s right the younger generation needs to learn from these guys you need to stand together, not fall apart

Jones had an ego so big his funeral was held at the Opry. He didn't found the Opry however I suppose he thought he perfected it. I respect his place in country music history, for it is huge. May he rest in peace. Jackson has always displayed manners and respect. Not a lot of controversy with or around Jackson.

Alan Jackson was never a woke-joke sellout like Garth Brooks, Brad Paisley. Tim McGraw, or many others are today.

I remember this. I watched Alan Jackson finish his song, never skipped a beat and strummed straight into George Jones Choices. That, to me, was the most classy and coolest. Then when he finished the song (the whole song!) He very quietly and classy, he tipped his hat, never said a word, then calmly walked off the stage. He raised the roof that night. The audience exploded with clapping and standing ovations.
