Good looking out on the quick fix video. (Quick tip) I didn't take off that piece with the two screws, I drilled holes through that part & attached the hinges to it. That way I didn't have to grind down the back & it worked like a charm from the console to the lid. By removing that part it makes it uneven, so just leave it on. It makes it so much simpler, I appreciate the video though. Saved me a lot of time & cash. Props 👍🏽

Very awesome hack. I had the same problem with my Camry. Also added some side support so it doesn't sway off from side to side. I added a monitor to my Camry and now i can play my ps3 which i put underneath my driver seat connected to an inverter.

Excellent video ! But too bad my issue is the little clip that locks on the top lid. Apparently you can't replace that and have to replace the entire lid ...

love the idea but im lazy so i just pot some screws in with washers in the previous holes with zip ties. took 2 minutes with no modifications. hope this opens up some options for others who have the same problem.

You're missing the two rubber stoppers to the left and right of the latch on the center console lid. My Camry is missing one of those as well. Those are what pads the impact of the lid as it shuts, and also prevents that noise you mentioned in one of your other videos, when you put pressure on the lid. Hope this helps. If you can't get a hold of the rubber stoppers, you might could get away with some felt with adhesive backing and put it on the edge of the console lid, or the edge of the console, as desired. Just be sure the felt isn't so thick, that it prevents the lid from latching.

How do you fix the clip if it breaks? My hinge is fine, but the clip is busted.

No need to file the plastic down and make it ugly from the back! ... I had the same problem and solved it by installing a plastic stick (use fast glue!) to lift up the profile (raise the profile) and then install the hinge on top of the plastic stick.

Rex, viewver from malaysia here. since u have change your toyota camry halogen bulb to Led bulb, the cutoff line of the led is glaring the opposite car, how do u solve it. can u make a video with that? thanks
