GIRRRLL, you don’t even need to explain yourself ! You are their momma, you could give a 5 year old a phone and it’s no ones business to tell you not to ! Love you ❤️

I remember getting my first phone at 8 or 9 as well, Definitely a smart choice given today’s world. Your kids are also very responsible. You know what’s best for your family!

Kaden: I’m adopted
Anyone who watched the twins pregnancy and birth: you are DEFINITELY not adopted

Yay I’m glad you are not letting them have access to social media because it can be so damaging in many aspects to any person or kids I wish my parents didn’t allow me at such a young age

My first phone was a Razor when I was 9 because my mom was on a trip and my dad worked before I left or got home from school so they needed to be sure I could reach them in any emergency. I think its great you're giving them phones but also being responsible about it and teaching them responsibility at the same time! Plus, you don't have to justify any of your decisions to the internet!

I completely get it! My nephew was 8 when we gave him a phone, as he gets on a public bus, alone, to come home. The bus drivers look after him, but its so he always has a way to contact us if he needs to. Then there is when hes at his dads, they don't wont call his mum if anything is wrong, so this way, he can call her if he needs her. Its about safety and having kids have access to their parents when they find themselves in situations that they need their mum or dad.

I think kids who go back and forth between two houses should have a phone. It helps the child be able to call the other if they feel unsafe or there’s an emergency. Especially in the situation of your ex that is the dad of Landen and the twins. I think nine is a bit young but in the situations you’re talking about I have to agree.

I love how she is so nice and letting them use it for a specific use and she explains it like what other parents do because some parents yell at there children/child .

I’m a single Mum of a now 16 year old. I got my boy a phone when he was 12 because that was when he had to start catching the bus to and from school because I had to work. I 110% understand wanting communication with my kid/s when they are in a situation that you’d like to be able to contact them. Like skate park down the street and if someone gets hurt or at a sleepover at another family members house whatever. Also I have watched your channel for so many years now. Love you guys !!!

Kids these days are growing up in the era of technology and social media. The rules we had growing up don’t really apply now. I feel like as long as you’re being safe, sensible, practical and logical with your parenting decisions, you can do whatever applies to your family and your own personal family situations. Don’t listen to or feel that you need to explain yourself to what the Karen’s of the world dictate you should and shouldn’t do👍🏻

I gave my daughter her first phone at 8 for very similar reasons! I went with iPhone too! Best decision because of all the parental controls! You and Chris made the right decision!

9 was the magic age for my kids too. When my daughter got on the bus I wanted a text she got to school safe. You are an amazing mom. 🥰

As a complicated divorced parents kid, thank you for giving them phones, it’s just such a relief to be able to call your mum and tell her if something’s wrong.... it prevents separation anxiety for sure!

You should get YouTube kids for your kids it only has kid stuff anytime they get a notification from there phone it goes straight to your phone and if just say you kids typed something that is bad for kids or not good for kids or has swear words it won’t show those videos it is a great app you should try it

I totally agree with kids getting phones now a days. Most people don’t have landlines… so your child needs to communicate with you someway somehow. Mine is 11, she babysits and she’s alone at home sometimes. Love knowing that I can reach her at anytime. Also when she’s at her dads, I can contact her directly. I also like the fact that she knows she can reach me at anytime.
