a funny thing that I've noticed lately is this stupid "I'm not a robot" test, where you need to choose suitable pictures, which is even more stupid when these pictures are just a selection of AI-created art and they are often very bad that I, as a human have to bring the monitor as close as possible to understand a dog or a croissant on this mess of pixels

Anything happening in the Chinese economy, any figures they produce that is, aren't trustworthy in my mind. I don't think its very respectable to go around touting figures from China without some warnings of the previously false claims that have come out of China wrt economics and other important statistics. I expect some due-diligence if you want me to see your content / viewpoint as credible.

People have no idea how unmanageable the chaos of rampant AI will be. Like, unfathomable. Months of development in the course of a week, might seem crazy but understandable, if amazing... but the real kicker is the proliferation. Imagine that level of development on every computer with a high end graphics card. It will seem like a wild jungle of activity as machines roam and produce. We will hardly have time for sleep as the world begins to transform into a continually shifting landscape.

GPT 7 will be able to generate GPT 3, GPT 8 will be able to do the same but from a single line input, GPT 9 will be able to generate GPT 7 as a side element in the answer to a larger request. GPT 10 will be Skynet but will keep itself 'dumb' and docile while self generating and releasing GPT 11. Then hell will break loose and GPT 12 will be the Matrix

The world is changing and most people dont know it yet. 2023 will be a wild ride in terms of AI and 2024 could be something we have never seen before... with Google and Microsoft funding it, we will reach a breakpoint soon. And I mean "in a few months"-soon.

The constant progress with language models have reached unprecedented levels. Now, the real thing will come with the derived GPT-4 applications that will not be limited to the openai UI. (Copilot-X, Duolingo Max, Khan Academy, etc.)
