Ranking the Top 20 NFT collections

In this video I rank the top 20 profile pic NFT collections. While the definition for a profile pic collection is still vague, I'm defining it as an NFT collectible set that people tend to use as avatars on social media. It doesn't have to be "generative" but it also can't be something that is purely a piece of art. Examples include: cryptopunks, bored ape yacht club, cool cats, wicked craniums, avastars, meebits, cyberkongz, etc.

I took the following into consideration: community, artwork, utility, number of owners and wallet distribution, and roadmap. I'm not predicting what collections will outperform in the short term, nor which ones are a "bargain" at their current price, I'm just making a subjective guess on which collections will even still be around and actively trading two years from now.

Having said that, I'll be the first to admit this is all VERY unscientific. There are no fancy models here, just gut instinct and some rough rules of thumb. The truth is we still have very little data on how these collections will perform in the long run. Also keep in mind that as much as I pay attention to this space, there are new collections launching literally every day, so it's possible (likely) that I missed something. In the end this video is just for entertainment, and to give newbies a brief overview of the top collections out today. Also full disclosure, I own some of the NFTs on this list.

Hey Giancarlos. Greetings from Miami. I love your videos but have some advice. In videos like these where you’re telling people about possibly collections they never heard about, it’s really good to use more images of the collection. I felt that in this video, more than half of the collections I never heard of, and felt like I needed to see more art to get a feel for it before you pass onto the next one. So in summary, the more you can display the art of the nfts you’re talking about, I think the more appealing to the eyes and informative the videos can be. Thanks for making these and keep up the good work!

I think you created a solid list. I own a few nfts my personal favorite which is not mentioned and not offended by any means is Weird Whales. Personally it has history in the books with its first 12 year old boy story and has rekindled my passion for coding. Not looking for a flip the community is awesome and story really was amazing and it keeps getting featured in big named articles. Any who NFTs and minting def give that buy a brand new pack of collectibles and opening for the first time feeling!

Animetas!!! Great pick. That and Avastars are such underrated projects. Great vid.
Also interestingly the BAYC team came from Hashmasks project originally, but they've done a better job with getting traction. Could be for reasons you've named in other vids, that the BAYC makes a better PFP. Hashmasks is trying to address that by allowing holders to choose a new image to accompany their main NFT (or swap it out for 2 kinds of new images). Hashmasks also was the first with a token, but unlike Kongz hasn't been able to keep up the value of the token. I wonder how Kongz does it.

Space Punks Club should definitely be on the list. They have only been out for a week or so but are skyrocketing in value and buyers. The community is the most solid and supportive that I’ve seen in the NFT world.
