God, I love how Viktor was trying his best to flirt with Yuri (since, well, he made the first step.... technically) but the mf forgot the banquet. It's so fun to re-watch the anime knowing this, poor Viktor, he even asked what kind of "figure" Yuri wanted him to be, a friend, a father, a lover, dude gave all his shots for Yuri

Watching this episode unspoiled right after it aired in 2016 was a roller coaster ride that absolutely no anime has remotely matched since. The realization that the whole show was built off of the idea that Yuuri was the one to make the first move despite his low confidence and self-esteem was astounding, and I rewatched the entire show again the night after this episode premiered just to spot Victor's quiet suffering throughout the earlier episodes.

It really shows that victor loves yuuri for real though. Like he meets this shy, underconfident version of the goofy, confident man he met one night. hes willing to meet Yuuri on his level and go at his pace, while also making sure to challenge him at the same time.

One thing I question with the banquet. Why is there a perfectly good metal pole in the middle of a banquet hall that the boys used as a stripping pole? Did one of them order it? Or is it conveniently there? Still in love with it though.
