Switch mode power supply has 2 grounds..a hot ground and a isolated ground. I damaged a power by not paying attention tion to this. Thank you you for your lessons they are very clear and easy to understand.

Great follow-up video! So just to be clear isolated grounds i.e. analog or digital grounds are safe as long as the return path is isolated and not a return path like neutral.
But I guess floating the scope is best.
