Installing the Gotek Floppy Drive in the Atari Falcon

The Atari Falcon can also benefit from the Gotek Floppy drive emulator. This video shows that the installation of the Gotek drive is a relatively straight forward process for the Atari Falcon (compared to installing the drive in the Atari ST series of computers).

With the rectangular cut out from the floppy drive's face plate, the Gotek is easily viewable with the Falcon's case assembled.

Thank you for this, helped confirm a couple of things during the install. I ended up drilling the GoTek mounting holes to 7/64", which allowed the screws to fit nicely into it.

Is the DS jumper setting the same as for STs and do 1, 44MB disk images work correctly?

Interesting. Would it be possible to use a regular floppy as a b:/ drive if you have the mkx case with the gotek as a:/?

Interesting that Atari switched the alignment of the Floppy-cable on the Falcon. Although I have one too (which I haven't used for 20 years now, but "soon"...) I thought it would be the same as in the 1040s or some of the external SF314 drives (not mine actually).
Installing a Gotek in a 1040 can be straight forward plug and play, too. If using the right accessories. 😉
I just did so in my "new" 1040STF. Ok, for the rotary-selector and the LED-display some "adjustments" are needed.
