for me the shock of the day was the difference in pace between Hamilton and Antonelli . Kimi absolutely destroyed him in the second stint on the supposedly slower tyre. Also his medium stint was crazy long . After the race Lewis implied he was sabotaged somehow, that's a bit early for this type of games.

I think a lot of people missed this in the Papaya team ... Oscar holding himself back right now in Interviews, he is clearly not happy at all, 4 x times he let Lando pass him last year !!!! Antonelli - one thing about him is he drives closer to the limit. Notice the number of times he crosses that threshold.
- this means he'll have some great results
- it also means he's going to have DNF's
- and what this means is in year 2 and 3 he's going to be better.

You need a fast car, but you need consistency in performance and an opportunistic personality to take advantage of said car, week in and week out. Like a Max, Lewis, Schumy. I don't see that consistency and hunger in Lando, I see it more in Oscar, tbh.

I saw this coming too for LH. When Max became a contender LH was in denial (to me) and not putting in the work. Only when defeated did he enter the sim again. Too little too late. Thats said, if the man does well and shows excellence I will cheer. Just as I did for Checo before he drove into Carlos. I'm willing to put everything aside to see these guys show excellence and keep the ice bears and colors out of it.

Let's remember that max only has to make it to race before there could be a shake up in who is the best car. Before the flex wing upgrades, redbull was the fastest car. These new regs might fall their way for all we know. McLarens goal should be to have a cushion before it gets here just in case like max did last year. If max is within sniffing distance at race 8 this whole "some day soon to be 5 time champion" thing might not sound so crazy. All I know for sure is 1 point away is less than it should be at this point.
