Week 209 – "Transparent Leaders"
We know that trust is key to high-performing teams. Part of a leader’s responsibility to help nurture trust within their team is demonstrate transparency. There are two types of transparency that are necessary: personal and professional.
Personal transparency is being willing to “let down your guard” and admit shortcomings and mistakes when they happen. Doing so allows a leader to model a self-assessing mindset and provides the impetus for all members of the team to act transparently. Professional transparency is modeling our professional core values. Leaders ensure clarity in the assessment of how an individual or team is meeting a standard or goal through consistent transparency.
What will you do differently to become a more transparent leader?
Lead well this week.
