My favorite so far is the cup. It's pretty easy to use and I love how you can wear it longer than a pad/tampon. Also not that difficult to clean!

I haven't gotten my period yet but my mom bought to some period underwear for when I wear something like jeans, a dress, or white. And I can say they are very comfy and like discharge doesn’t leek trough, it sometimes does with my normal thinner underwear.

My favorite type is June menstrual cups. I forget that I’m on my period with those, as they are so easy to use. It’s nice not having to take out a dry tampon out on light days and I don’t have to worry about the tampon string. I do not like pads because if they are in the wrong position they leak and I do not like when you can feel it happening. The cup is wonderful for any day light or heavy, it does not hurt and is easy to remove. You can also use the cup on discharge days to prevent discharge from getting in your underwear. Please try the discs next, June makes reusable discs as well.
