The way that Saturn is introduced gives me chills. Knowing that she's one of the most powerful, if not most powerful Senshi (and definitely the most feared) who only appears as a sort of deus ex machina really pulls the feeling together. Her purple glow, the wind and waves raging, the organ music that plays as she stares into your soul. It's brilliant.

I like how Saturn's appearance is so different and dreary when compared to the almost uniform looks and cheerful coloring of the other Sailor Scouts. Even her brooch stands out, where the others have this soft and gentle curve, hers is sharp and stark.

I really appreciate the way they gave Saturn her 'transformation' sequence without sacrificing the scene's tension by having her rise up in the scene and NATURALLY merge into the transformation... It'd be rad if it was just ALWAYS like that... though I know half the point of the transformation's is just to save on the budget with some canned animations, the reason THIS one is memorable is precisely because it is NOT a canned animation, it's Sailor Saturn's transformation AND it's a natural progression of the scene.

What makes Sailor Saturn so terrifying is that she's literally the complete opposite of Sailor Moon. While Sailor Moon represents rebirth and rejuvenation, Sailor Saturn represents death and destruction. They're both the alpha and the omega, up and down, yin and yang. Sailor Moon is the reset button while Sailor Saturn is the stop button. Overall Sailor Saturn is definitely up there as one of the most powerful and terrifying Sailor Guardian that has ever came to existence. Also, I don't know if it's just me but I feel like one day weather it's tomorrow or centuries and centuries from now, Sailor Saturn will rise up from the dead and destroy this entire universe on Judgement Day. 😰😰😰
