I bought my first house (1979) for $32, 000.00 at 21 in Pennsylvania. I was a railroad fireman earning $900.00 a week. My mortgage was $280.00 a month. My wife didn't work, and she drove a brand new Pontiac Trans AM that I bought her for Christmas in 1978 for $14, 700.00 cash that I saved. So what happened? "Marketing/Branding!" When you put a label on water, shirts, and coffee, you then sell less for more because you've artificially created a demand.
