It’s so nice to see someone in the medical field support all human beings regardless of perceived differences. We need more humans supporting humans. Everyone deserves to be loved and have a family who they love and who loves them. Life isn’t really that complicated. Love and acceptance are key. Let’s build people up and celebrate our humanity. 😊

You seem like such a sweet lady! It's wonderful to see how open and supportive you are. I would love to have a doctor like you treat me.

What about trans women wanting to give birth. There are uterus transplants but the process is so iffy to me how can doctors give trans women the ability to birth safely?

I've been on Testosterone since 5/14/2014. What are my options for having kids? I would prefer the child be genetically mine but don't necessarily want to carry it as my first opinion. If I have to I will but I'd like that to he my last possible option

Great video! I would be interested in a longer video about chromosomal diversity. I think it's helpful in overturning the first argument that people have that you're either an xx female or an xy male. The truth is there's more to it than that. Once that is understood, you really can't ignore trans identities as a fact.

I’m trans, 3 years on T, and going through egg retrieval. I highly appreciate you being so inclusive and informative. ❤️

I admittedly know absolutely nothing about this topic, but I do believe everyone deserves respect, proper medical treatment and care, and to feel comfortable seeking a path to parenthood. Thank you for educating me!

Thanks for your video. I am officially now chemically castrated on the cross sex hormones. I started HRT 4 months ago. My Libido is totally annihilated. Totally gone. No sensation whatsoever. Initially I felt bad about it, but now I am totally reconciled to this happy, peaceful, gentle, serene CHASTE way of life. It makes me feel pure and holy like I'm pleasing God with my chastity. The hormones are doing good and positive things for me, and I am very happy and peaceful and content. Long may it last. I realise I am completely sterile now and that is kinda strange, but I am 66 so a bit old for children. I never really wanted kids anyhow so it doesn't matter. I'm happy enough to be celibate and religious like a nun. God bless you. Marisa

You cannot please everyone nor should you try. This is the medical field. Female and male anatomy is just that.

I'm ftm and at the beginning of my journey to become a dad...

I took T for 1.5 years because it was required from my insurance in order for them to cover the costs of top surgery...
Now I'm almost a year off T but nothing happened... it was freaking hard to find a doctor who would even consider helping... and I found a clinic who requires me to get periods before treating me as a patient... but I'm glad I found a doctor who might helps me with that issue (haven't had a period in 2.5 years...)... Obviously I have some issues with that...
But even before I took T I ovulated rarely (and my cycles were between30 and 120+ days...) and nobody really cared when I told them (even before coming out as trans)
I just want to care for a child that belongs to my family (also signed up for adoption but chances are slim so I wanna increase my chances using my eggs and uterus)...

I love your channel and love that you have covered a helpful topic not commonly discussed and in such an excited, supportive way! In regards to the chromosomal abnormalities though, I would argue that the existence of <1% of people being born with disorders of sexual development does not mean that sex is non-binary. There are exceptions to the rule, just as with dextrocardia, but sex is still binary in mammals. I truly don't say this to be hateful at all or deny the existence of people with these differences. But when people say that sex is "assigned" at birth, it creates this false idea in many people's heads that Doctors are just casually, carelessly shrugging and guessing. When in reality, external genitalia is indicative of sex in 99-99.5% of people, and for the various forms of sexual development abnormalities, most will still produce one of the two types of gametes despite abnormalities in external genitalia.

Thank you so much for this. My child is MTF. It’s so hard to find positive content on trans people. I’m very supportive of my child but it’s really hard on a mom. She is 22 years old and I’ve been so proud of the handsome young man they grew into. It sounds like I’m not supportive but I am. I want my child to live their life the way they want to and will always be there. It’s just hard to wrap my head around. Kind of like when you’re pregnant and you’re so sure the baby is a boy and then out pops a girl and you almost mourn the loss of the little boy you dreamt of. Only you’ve been pregnant for 22 years. I wish there were support groups for trans moms to help us work through the transition so we can be as supportive as they deserve us to be. Positive content like this really really helps. Thank you!!
