In this episode of In The Pits we catch up with Dick Ward and his awesome Fiat Sports Sedan. Starting life as a road car, this car has seen many different incarnations and racing use across three continents as it was developed.
Today the car is powered by a naturally aspirated 12A rotary motor, which always turns heads when on circuit. A little powerhouse of a car, this is one that is greatly enjoyable to see on track.

I used to love watching it doing laps at Wanneroo in the 70's. Great to see it running again and Dick still driving.

Legend of a car and driver! Had the privilege of competing against this in many events in the past decade or so. Beats me more that I beat it! Dick still pushes it along quickly!

Love that car!
Did he have his RX-7 from the mid 80’s there?
He used to give the Chevy-Alfetta a run for it’s money.

I can remember Dick and his RX7 sports sedan at Wanneroo in the 1980s, but wow I didn't know he had this little beast over 50yrs ago. Good to see he's still enjoying driving fast.

Fix it again tony. What a great longstanding track weapon. I'd love to see it in the hill climb events.

I wish you asked what lap times they were doing at mallala on the day. Would have been great to compare all these cars

Good video. I love rotary but is there a reason why the Australians and New Zealanders like them so much?
