Been wanting to do an Kitchen Extension for a few years, completely absorbed by these videos and just slightly jealous of all this work happening on someone else's house!:) It helps a lot to also see what type of things you'd expect a potential builder to mention.

This is so helpful thanks so much. Were having a utility room added with toilet. Same as this extension at back. CU at front lol joists run the wrong way no idea how electrician is going to get cable back there. I'm guessing in swa outside but I also have gas pipe up the whole side of house. Builder can't answer me and I'm worried its guna stop the work

Good idea to triple up the roof joists, however they should be bolted together to create one solid beam, and I dont see a single joist hanger anywhere in the roof construction.
Is the building inspector away on holiday?

What size metal back box did you use in the end?

Who’s fault would you say it is as I have dot and dabbed the walls but the Electrican put big boxes on the wall and now protrudes further than the skim. I pulled them out and chased the socket but was wondering if he should have put
Smaller box’s or chased them in a bit or I should have brought the dab out more?

If you do the electrics your self you will struggle to find someone willing to 3rd party certify the new installation. And if you do find someone it will be expensive
