The Beatles’ homemade loops were reproduced from tape machines in different rooms within the Abbey Road studio complex. ‘We had engineers all over the building standing by with their loops going round, holding them on with pencils,’ Sir George Martin remembered. In a documentary Grorge Martin said he cut the tape up and dropped the pieces on the floor. They then stuck them together in a random order.
