I just finished watching Harmonie for the 1st time just now.

What a perfectly beautiful statement about art! So many memories went flying thru my mind as I watched it! My best friend in Middle School played by ear like the MC in Harmonie. He used to play songs for me that I liked on piano or guitar while his Dad, a Pastor, would get ready for the special meetings at his Church I was always being invited to go to. I remember my friend's Dad would get mad at him for playing "secular" songs in Church! Oh! So many memories! I practically lived at his house, & his whole family was super musically talented - & super tall! I always had a neck ache from looking up so much when I finally went home! 😄

Unfortunately, I had to move away when my friend & I were both 14. We grew apart, as friends do, & the final straw came when he & his new wife came to see me for the 1st time since they'd been married. His wife was super jealous of our friendship & gave him so much Hell he never saw or spoke to me again, after that. I've never had another friend like him, since. It's been almost 20 years now.

Anyway, I digress! 😌 I'm not musical at all, but I do write a little, so I can understand a little bit about the hope, fear, & frustration the characters in Harmonie felt. To somehow share the same dream, for another person to somehow bridge the gap & understand me in a way they should not be able to, that I may even feel I don't want them to, but that I so desperately NEED them to, I think, is the heart's cry of me as a creative person. I feel so trapped in my own insecurities & fears that letting anyone in is just so painful that it feels like my chest is being crushed, so I cast out words, hoping someone will see me & like what they see. Maybe they'll wave to me from a distance & let me know I'm not alone. Maybe not. But I have to try.

Does it matter that the MC didn't really have the female MC's dream? That he just heard the recording? I don't want it to matter. Does it matter that someone sees inside my head cuz of the words I write, & not because they can see what I think? I don't want it to matter. I want to think a connection has been made & we breathe in time with each other for a few seconds. Maybe I'm the only one who feels this way? Maybe I'm just silly, sentimental, & weak, reading my own junk into a cartoon, again? I don't know. I do not think I care.

Amazing and beautiful cover. Its such a shame that Harmonie ended up forgotten after that Anime Mirai, easily the most underrated anime i've ever seen. It deserved so much a sequel.

Harmonie has to be the most underrated work of art i have ever seen in my life. This short film that is just a little over 20 minutes perfectly showcases what its truly like to connect with another person in today's era, the kind of connection which in time could blossom into a beautiful love between two people.

I didnt know this song even excited, let alone the movie. But yet why am I able to feel it so. Its like loving something that you never seen or heared before. Wow, someone actually make a content for Harmornie. I swear I never seen any discussion of this short film (though there's not much to discuss and this film is very niche, probably almost 10 years old). I found it randomly and gave it a watch, it was very good and the ending song is damn beautiful. Glad to see you cover it.
