Thanks for this fine review
FYI- wing flexing is not meant for bumping absorption, but to make sure the wings not disturb your thighs when pedaling.

Short-nosed saddles were developed to comply with UCI regulations because the nose of the saddles couldn't be x cm infront of the BB. Shorter nose means the saddle can be slid forward while complying with the regulations.

I changed to the Vento after experiencing problems on my turbo, happy to say its helped both on the turbo and long rides 🎉

Yes, the world of saddles is a tad scary. I can see where most of us cyclists would be confused on which to buy. Especially some being very expressive.
Been riding for some years now and it seemed that I would get that discomfort around the 80-100 klms mark, and also even hitting the 50klm mark at times. Mind you I've been using a Specialized Toupee for 3- years now. And thought well the saddle hurting is relatively normal in cycling so ...
But recently I came across the (Pro Stealth) in the 142mm size and was in awe just looking at one!!! I dove in the deep waters and got one after hearing so many folks speaking very highly on the Stealth Pro. Glad I did!!
I mean seriously, to be able to ride long distances and not feel that pressure in that tender area is heavenly! The Stealth has a perfect cutout for a healthy flow which works extremely well for me.

But having said that, remember that each and every one of us is built differently so one must invest time to investigate all there is about saddles. Hopefully you will find the correct saddle for you...

I think Fizik 'wing tips' were designed to give max support while giving way enough to allow free movement of the thighs. Feel free to school me if I'm wrong!

I don’t think you ever explain that the Fizik you call a “Cadillac” (which has not been the ne plus ultra of cars for about fifty years) is the Tempo Argo. The Argo is designed for endurance riding. The other, narrower Tempo is the Vento, which is designed for racing.

I have never found measuring to the nose of the saddle useful when changing from one saddle to another, which is why Fizik’s marks on the underside make sense only when taking the same saddle off and on. Different saddles have such different configurations that the nose measurement is only helpful as a rough starting point. I find it far more helpful to measure to the rough sit bone point — usually at the widest point of the saddle.

I just picked up the Fizik tempo Argo for my commuter. So far it’s been great!

Saw this in my feed for a while before watching as I thought it would be a bit pedestrian and a subject that wouldn’t translate outside personal experience. Anything but! Very thorough and well thought out!

I had the Selle touring model, the Pro was more comfortable & narrower nose part of why, the SLR looks primo to me, headwinds here keep me on the clipons a lot, good review thx 🍺

I have the PRO but will give the SLR a try. The pro is just to wide for me, 143mm wide! The back of my legs hit the saddle when pedaling and I find myself constantly moving forward to avoid that. SLR is 130mm so hopefully should be better.

Go to a bike shop and try as many as you can! The one you want and the one that works for you are often quite different. I wanted the Fizik Argo and ended up with a QS Labs saddle.

There is also the Terra Argo, gravel specific. X1 - X5. More flex design in the Terra. I'm thinking I may give the tempo a try on my road Giant Defy. Thanks for the power lineup :)

Short-nosed would be the commonality, boost/power/short-fit are all company specific terms

I got for present a Power from specialized 155mm wide. Feels quite comfy but I don't know if I should try with one a less little like 145.

Your comment about the SLR is true. I have an SLR boost and it's giving me trouble. I'm new to the game and I ride 80% of the time on the hoods and like to move around. After about 20 miles the discomfort sets in and only gets worse. HELP! lol

I liked riding solo, most of the time 40km but sometimes 100km. Would the Prologo Dimension be a good fit?
