I have 4 San Martins and no issues. My Omega P.O. has issues with the crown not screwing in and my Brietling chrono 13 has shit for a bezel

I've been wearing that same watch for a good year now. White dial 8315 movement. I paid quite a bit less because I only buy those watches directly from San Matin during a sale. So it's a way to save 50-60 bucks. I wear it in a bottling plant and it gets slammed all day. It's very accurate and will run for a least 60 hours. It might be the most legible watch you can buy because the ar coating is good and the lume lasts a good 6 hours. So 3 in the afternoon in direct sunlight - 3am with no light - doesn't matter. San Martin said they use a different method to brush the steel. I think they were going for a very rough - very tool watch look. Mine must be scratched all over but it kind of looks the same. I wear it in the pool, the gulf of Mexico - a true beater/tool. Fantastic bracelet, great value. I have that movement in another watch. Same thing, Accurate and runs for days.

Good honest review. Well done. Still watch your audio channel which I have done since before I started my own watch channel :)

Great review Randy. I own the same watch in black and totally understand your "rough finishing" reference. I think the same but consider the watch a true durable tool watch with a blue collar finish. The lume is also great on the black dial version- I love the watch.

Why did they go with vertical brushing on the sides? Horizontal brushing accentuates the flow of the case much better. With those gauges on it I wonder if scotch brite will be enough to alter it. Some more aggressive means might be needed....
Thanks for the review!

I picked up a San Martin SN0074 for about $250 when it was on sale. One thing I like is that it's a clone of the BR05 but without the asymmetric date. Finishing is good but one of the screws on the bezel is ever so slightly off. I guess that's what we have to expect with SM.

People always say they're punching above their weight and yes they are punching above their weight With that ridiculous price Maybe with a different movement it might be tolerable and I do mean Maybe Great review as always my friend Thanks 👍

Use nail polish remover with a q tip to get rid of the blue on the crown

It's funny how some people get enamored of a brand despite overcharging and crazy quality variance. A fine review, I definitely appreciate the style and structure of your reviews.

It's not an original design. It's an homage to the Helm Vanuatu

San Martin watches are great. Amazing quality for the price especially during the sales

Pro tip, to get the blue sticker off the crown, use scotch tape, press down hard then pull off quickly

I do believe, imo, that you could have spent that money on a better option, but having said that, if it makes your heart beat/tick a little faster, then it is money well spent. I have several in line before any from this Marque. Thanks for sharing this with us all and giving us your perspectives. Have a wonderful weekend, Sir. Take care and keep ticking.

It looks like the protective stickers are still on the sides of the case!

Why is it so hard to find watches which are not so glossy today ?

Oh, those sides... Ugh!
Well, I learned from this channel that a tiny square of green Scotchbrite can do wonders for a "custom" finish look. In this case, anything would be better than nothing.

I am wondering if the QC was skipped on this watch. That seems odd to release a watch with such poor finishing.

This one is also an homage, it just isn't in the rolex/tudor/omega family. They do seem to have a bit of a waitlist to get an original though.
