In this video, students will solve a word problem involving shopping. The goal is to evaluate an expression with one missing variable in order to find the value of the missing variable. In the current case, the word problem reads as follows: Steve went to the department store and saw there’s a sale. There is a rack of t-shirts that are each $5. If the tax is consistently $3, how much would he pay for 2, 5, or 7 t-shirts ?
This problem requires students to first create an equation that encapsulates all elements in the problem. Next solve the problem in order to identify the correct answer. This video is a short step by step algebra tutorial that simplifies the complexity of the problems within it. At the end of this video, students will be able to evaluate expressions having a missing variable. #algebra #variable #tutorial
