Brutally honest! Sirui Sniper F1.2 Auto Focus

preview_player
Показать описание
These Sirui Sniper lenses seem to be a great option for those wanting fast auto focus lenses for their super35 camera in the Sony e, Fuji X and Nikon Z mount.
These Sirui lenses are not without faults. When it comes to budget lenses they certainly are an interesting option.
For video, sharp lenses aren't always desireable. It really depends on the individual and what they prefer for the job needed.

What are your thoughts on these lenses.

Sirui have already fixed this focus issue I have had. Like I said they are pre-production copies and focus is one thing that will get better.

Definitely enjoyed testing out the sniper series. Had autofocus issues at first as well but they fixed my issues with the firmware update

This is the kind of lens tests I like to see. Thank you.

So Sigma is STILL the champ in APSC with their many year old lenses, this lenses are pretty mediocre at best to be honest, great review Jason, it really helps out because I ALMOST pulled the trigger on these lenses !

Perfect timing Jason. I was just looking into these. Thank you so much for posting this, massively helpful 👍.

I really appreciate your reviews and can't think of a more perfect example, as to why, than this. While so many others have completely bashed these lenses, choosing to focus on the negatives, you came out and said, "Here's both sides of the coin." Next to Gerald, you're one of the most honest and straightforward reviewers, I've come to rely on, and unlike Gerald, who's great for the detailed technical stuff, you give me the practical use case information. Between the two of you I feel extremely informed about potential purchases. Plus, I just love your content man. Way to keep it 💯, much love.

Thanks for the review. I'll stay clear then. Was hoping at least one of them was useable wide open.

Pre order 56mm for my a6700. I like how dreamy it looks on your video.

Like the honesty in this one man. It's nice to actually know what you are getting. I like the teeth on the cine lens, I would like to get one someday BUT I would probably spend more to get "sharper" and less chromatic aberration... I use Fuji cameras these days... I own the XF series but the cine lenses from Fuji are a little on the overly high priced side for a not bright lens

Hello, Is anyone using Sony a7iv with this lens ? Thanks

Not sure why anyone would get these (the sniper) over the Sigma series for aps c which certainly focus amazingly and have great optics. (very similar pricing but a bit more). I do want the nightwalker though. Manually focusing, I can deal with some of their optical issues for what they give.

All I have to say, is "Sigma 18-35 art" 👍 aps-c King.

For the price paired with fx30 will be 10stars for SIRU. All the folks who expect glass quality of a Zeiss or GM lens for this price please delete your accounts :))

Didn't surprise me to see theses are NOT good lenses, EVEN worse as a 3 pack is as they are very inconsistent! WHEN IT COMES TO QUALITY GLASS, you truly get what you pay for!!
QUALITY Lenses are a investment, more than any other gear, as they keep their value. Over time, can even be worth more than you paid for them. Thx for the Honest Review Jason 👍

These are a let down in general. Especially because they'll end up being 1000 for the set after general release. Even if the autofocus wide open inproves the softeness of the 56 and inconsistenct between the 23 and fhe lthwr 2 color wise is annoying

How would you think the Sniper series would do for wedding videos on the FX30

On set for sure manual. On the go I would love Cine AF. I hope a firmware will resolve these issues.

Good review, just a shame you didn't touch on the bokeh as a couple of times I was seeing some nice puffy style bokeh that appeared pretty charming. My experience has been that lenses that produce pleasing characterful bokeh tend to also CA quite a lot and something that the user needs to be aware of.
