What is Legionnaires' disease?

I had legionnaires in 2017. Went to the hospital with a fever of 105 and they sent me home after doing numerous tests claiming it was a FOU. Fever of unknown origin. I spent a week hallucinating then went back to the hospital. I was lucky there was an infection disease dr there. She diagnosed legionnaires and I spent the next week in the hospital. And the next 3 weeks recovering. Come to find out 3 other people in my work also had it. One of them died. Our air conditioning units had been replaced a couple of weeks before. This is a horrible disease. And largely unheard of.

Regularly use your taps for more than 30 seconds every week and that's preventative enough in most cases along with regularly cleaning your water outlets, ie taps, shower head

Pretty sure making sure the water is clean and safe is up to the water companies, not us. I'm a cornish girl, sw uk....we have the highest rates for water due to how clear and clean it is and I'd be dammed if they're taking almost £400 a month for me to clean my water myself.

We've probably slowed down the rate of disease spreading a lot by switching from cash to cards and payment by smartphone apps.
