Former President Barack Obama will headline the third night of the 2020 Democratic National Convention on Wednesday, delivering a live address from the Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia. The choice of location is intended to convey that “our very democracy is at stake” in this election, according to a CNN report.

Obama will join other party powerhouses like Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Hillary Clinton, and Sen. Kamala Harris, who will officially accept her party’s nomination for vice president. The former president’s speech comes after an impassioned address by his wife, Michelle, on Monday night, during which the former first lady assailed the current occupant of the White House as reckless and desperately unqualified. “Donald Trump is the wrong president for our country,” she said. “He has had more than enough time to prove that he can do the job, but he is clearly in over his head. He cannot meet this moment. He simply cannot be who we need him to be for us. It is what it is.”

Now that's a Presidential speech! No division, personal self serving, it unites people, provides encouragement and support to the American people in difficult times. A president takes personal responsibility, a true leader would NEVER say 'it is what it is'!

I almost forgot what it was like to have an intelligent, reasonable, ethical, and honest president. This speech was a reminder.

I started traveling in SE Asia in 2014. The Asian people and other travelers from all over the world really admired America, even after all the bad things we did here during the war. In every country, when children would find out I was an American, they would get excited and say “Obama, Obama!” I live in SE Asia now. It is different these days. The respect is gone. The difference is both striking and tragic.

Obama makes more sense and gives me more hope in 20 minutes than Trump has his entire presidency.

“Do not let them take your power. Do not let them take away your democracy”

And that is what a real leader sounds like.

Don’t just vote but be informed. Know your candidates and know what your views are, and know how they impact others.

Edit: add-on

This really helped me feel better; inspired, motivated. I loved hearing Presidents Obama acknowledge and verbalize what we are experiencing.

Everytime I see him, I miss him more and more.
It feels like he's kinda a father and now we have an evil step dad trying to kill us or something.

Words of wisdom and decency by a true leader. People needed a reminder that democratic values do matter in a truly great nation

Joe has Omaba's phone number ... to answer any questions ... ... Trump has Putin's cell phone ... not sure why ???

This man knew he was responsible for millions of people live while in office. But Trump on the other hand acts like he’s still on a reality TV show. Seriously, the things he tweets just demonstrate his idiotic behavior and incapabilities to run the country.

I did not always agree with Obama on his policy decisions but he ALWAYS led with conviction and character. He stuck to his ideals and put the needs of his citizens first. He will always have my respect for that.

Joe Biden will be a good president. He has my vote
