EZ V Bow Sight Review

Review of the EZ V sight for bow hunting.

The EZ V sight is dramatically different from most other hunting sights, or archery sights for that matter, on the market. Its major claims are to aid in range finding, to reduce target panic, and to be simple and tough. After using the sight for an entire bow hunting season, I believe the EZ V definitely makes good on the claims for durability and ease of use. To understand the range finding accuracy and other claims, you need to dig a little deeper to find out how they work.

This is the best review I’ve come across for this sight system. When you come to the table to talk about a product you got it covered. Thank you for the video.

I've used a single fixed vertical pin (or crosshair) for 30+ years. I have never owned a slider sight or multiple pins. When crunch time comes, I believe in keeping things simple. I become a better shooter when my instincts take over. Deer (& turkeys) are unpredictable. This past week, I have been trying something new. I am shooting an EZ V sight for the first time, but I customized it to having one set of tick marks @ 20 yards. Now, I am shooting like my single fixed pin, but with the added benefit of using the V to help guide me with longer shots. If you like to kill targets, I suggest using a rangefinder & pins. If you want to harvest game, I suggest looking into the EZ V sight. I am not interested in how good my groups are @ 30 yards (or whatever known distance). I am interested in how good my groups are at unknown distances within 40 yards, because that's hunting for me! "Frame it & claim it" - This is how an EZ V sight works. I find visualizing a basketball inside the "V" makes me instinctually punch the center of the vitals at unknown distances, & that's what hunting is all about!

This is a very nice review of the sight, & I used it to help decide on an EZ V sight purchase myself. The filming of your hunts are well done! Thank you for sharing all this with us!

This is the best review that I’ve found on the EZ V.

Best Review I've seen for this Sight. Average Jack did a good one, where he confessed that he strongly anticipated Hating the sight, and wound up really liking it for hunting.
I'm in the process of picking my compound bow back up after 3 years of hunting with my crossbow, I'm putting in the work that it really takes to completely overcome Target Panic and I think this site would be a good fit for a more instinctive Target focused execution.

This is the best review of an archery sight I've ever seen and I've watched hundreds.... Well done!

Really well thought out review. I think the concept is very strong for punching deer tags. I also find the assertion that it helps with target panic very believable.

There is one additional issue that I really see this sight addressing. At ranges beyond 30 yd, simply putting your pin behind the shoulder of the deer may send your shot into the liver. At extended ranges, your shot will land in the guts. I sight in my bow so that the center of my fiber optic pin is my centerline for windage. The further the shot, the wider the pin appears on the target. When taking a longer shot at game, it takes conscious thought to put the CENTER of the pin in the crease of the shoulder vs. simply placing the pin behind the shoulder. To me, the fact that this sight is designed to frame the vitals of a deer is probably more exciting than the range-finding feature. I’m guessing that while it is not as “accurate” as a pin sight, a lot fewer shots would land in the liver if this sight was universally employed in the deer woods.

Edit:

Also, I would think this solves the dilemma as to where to focus your eyes when aiming (i.e. the target or the pin). Just curious, does this make aiming easier? I would think that being able to cleanly focus on the target would make aiming much more instinctive. I am REALLY intrigued!

I love the EZ V sight. If you follow the instructions, you can be shooting accurately in less than 15 arrows. In fact following the directions, I put my first 3 shots right in the bread basket. Aaron really made this sight fool proof and the instructions EZ. I cant thank Aaron enough for this fantastic sight.

I'm glad the input was added about shooting this sight @ 3D targets that aren't broadside. If u have a close shot from a tree quartering away u can set the V so the center of it would be on the last rib then the 3D target would show u that u took the animal through the front of the liver & both lungs with an exit tight on the far shoulder.

Very good review. You brought insights others have not, in particular the long range (60, 70) shot, and thickness of the V structure.

Finally someone used all the same size allens..so annoying using different allen keys for adjusting a sight

Although this video is 5 years old, this is still the best review on this sight that I have seen. Helped with me determining that a pin sight (Since I like to do a lot of target and long range 3d) is just a better option for me. If I were just straight hunting, this would be a the sight though.
