This story was masterfully woven, through and through. Major congratulations to the author. One of the best ones I've heard in a while.

It had strong vibes to Local 58, Dawn of the Dead, and 28 Days Later. Infusing the religious implications from the book of Revelations made it all the more profound feeling.

11:45 for some reason, this is reminding me of biblical angels being described as terrifying looking things telling humans not to be scared. I guess they needed more members ASAP.

I don't know if it's just me, but it weirdly takes me out of a story when it feels like so many of these horror story protagonists are themselves horror story writers- it's almost become a meta trope, giving it this slight fourth wall break sensation. Not to mention it conveniently seems to give the protagonist a better grasp and insight over the situation which makes me fear a little less for their safety/sanity.
