Why Rich People Never Feel Happy And Rich (Interesting)

People often think that they’re going to be happy when they become wealthy but this couldn’t be further from the truth. When you get rich, you’re not going to have any worries, you’ll be able to spend your days as you please, go where you want to go and do what you want to do, right? While these parts are true, they don’t guarantee happiness. Let’s take a look at exactly why that is–this is something most people never realize.

Well, if I'm going to be sad anyway, I'd rather be sad and rich as opposed to sad and broke! 😊

If you believe money can't buy happiness, you are shopping in the wrong place.

Happiness is not how much you have to enjoy but enjoy what you have. There are big difference between being rich and being wealthy.

Wise video! What money gives you is more choices.

It's like saying having hands doesn't make you happy, but surely you'd be slightly less happy if you didn't have.

True freedom and happiness is not having any bills! I'm there world zero bills!!!! Drive an old 2007 Tacoma 2.7L single cab and a paid off house!!! I love it it's an awesome feeling not having stuff to worry about buying! My only wealth possessions are a Gold Chain, Sinn 556 watch and a W. German P220 45 acp!

In my job I work with a lot of wealthy couples. Most of them seem to live a happy life. Why? Because of the satisfaction and joy they get when they share their wealth by donating to those causes they care most about. And it's not the recognition they're after because most of them donate huge sums anonymously. The other thing that makes them happy is knowing that their family will always be taken care of. Do I believe money can buy happiness? No, but I have to admit it would bring me a lot of joy to be able to donate more!

For those of means, but not vast means, even if you're not a "stuff" person, unhappiness is largely the result of how quickly it can evaporate. There's an endless fear that you don't have enough. Being this kind of person, at least there's not a "never enough" or "keeping up with the Joneses" aspect, but nevertheless, the amount of money needed to feel as though, regardless of what life throws at us, we'll have enough, is an insurmountable number. Too much knowledge about what it actually takes to be financially free is in and of itself a source of unhappiness.

I had a real rich friend when I was 25, 26 he had a big house, all the jewelry, a Range Rover, a jaguar, and a corvette but he still wasn’t happy! 😮 we would always go out to a bar and I once asked him “ dude if I had a home like you I’d never leave the house” than I asked him why is he always going out?
Than he straight up told me “nothing makes me happy” he was always looking for a new high, it has always stuck with me

The headline is "Why Rich People Never Feel Happy And Rich", but I think you are mixing two things up, because lots of studies show that rich people are happier than poor people. However, your video is more about the happiness effect of buying new things, and ordinary people can easily join in here, because buying new things often gives only short-term joy. However, it has nothing to do with being rich.

So glad I learned about this phenomenon before I started making good money. I now have a comfortable level of income and I feel the urge to upgrade everyday, but I know it's an unending cycle. I intentionally avoid lifestyle creep by focusing on retirement prep, helping family, and investing instead of trying to appear wealthy. Only real change is now we take nice vacations twice a year and I have a lot more time freedom.

I can see where this would apply to most people, but my happiness isn't going to go down with wealth. I don't care about a big ass house, or a fancy sports car. House? Is it habitable? good enough for me. Car? Does it get me from point A to point B? Good enough for me. What would I want wealth for? Time. That alone is worth the wealth. I have hated every job I've ever had. You give me a life where I don't have to spend 40 hours a week doing something I hate; and I'll be infinitely happier. Hell the one year I was on unemployment because I was wrongfully terminated? That is what I consider the least stressful, most relaxing, and best year of my adult life so far and I'm in my mid 40's. No other year from 18+ has generated even half the level of happy I felt for that one yer period I didn't have to work. Oh also being able to afford healthcare would be nice, I guess. I haven't had a check up in over 20 years, lol
