This extremely simple tapering jig is so simple that I almost decided not to do the video. You be the judge. It is very useful in the shop. This shop built DIY tapering jig can be made in under five minutes.

As a new woodworker, this is gold. Not everyone has the resources for the fancy jigs with expensive clamps. This is exactly what I needed. Thank you, sir! Subscribed & liked! :)

So simple: I will use that jig for cutting a few 2-4 degrees or so timber tapers for use when removing the twist off "rough sawn" timber using a Thickness Planer. I can see it will work perfectly for that job; as well as cutting tapers for Occasional table legs, etc., etc! Thanks for showing me such a simple way to make a Tapering Jig!🤠 Will make one tomorrow, as it is sooo easy, ha, ha! Keep up the good and practical tips for those who would rather not spend "heaps" of money on expensive and unnecessary jigs, when simple ones like your one work just as well! 🙃🙃. ("Down-under" in the Southern Hemisphere, of course, in New Zealand!)

Exactly the video I needed! I am making tappered sawhorse legs from 2" x 12" lumber ripped in half at an angle, The top of the legs will be 8" and the bottom will be 3 1/4" (appx.). The top and bottom compound cuts will be 22° and 5°. Thanks for posting the video. Army! USMC(R) - 1975 here.

Now that was brilliant! Just goes to show that you don't have to overthink things to come up with a solution. I'm very glad you decided to make the video. Simple, concise and straight to the point with no needless chit-chat. I'm installing a 1.7m long shower tray onto a plinth, the supports for which need to be taper cut as the floor is 12mm out over the length. This simple jig will be quick to make and the result will be accurate. Thank you very, very much sir!

I watched a few other videos on making a taper jig, but they were pretty involved, and I just don't have time for another detailed shop project right now, I just needed to safely cut a few tapers and be done with it. So thank you so much for making this video, it was exactly what I need.

THANK YOU!! I have watched so many videos to taper my table legs and I didn't want to spend an entire day making a jig or trying to find a hand planer. This is beyond great.
