The fact that the Gomes tackle, that was deemed a second yellow, took place in the same match goes to show that Michael Oliver and PGMOL are not even trying to hide their incompetence anymore.

What annoys me is when people say “the player gave a ref a decision to make”. And my response to that is well yeah the ref is paid to do a job. Its his job to give the “correct decision”

They saw this kid was the new starboy, his interviews ooze confidence, they had to knock him down a peg. This is gonna effect him longer than a 3 match ban. They HATE arsenal

funnily enough, this was a clear and obvious error VAR did not overturn

This is several times now that Oliver has made astounding and never seen before or again calls against Arsenal. We should request he not ref our matches now, with this evidence.

As a Aston Villa Fan, believe me I can't stand Arsenal or the entitled fan base. But, NO way was that a RED. Absolute shambles the PL reffing is disgraceful. The decisions given this season have been shameful and we have the worst referees in An investigation needs to be done into the Michael Oliver

Joelington had a worse tackle yesterday, lunging after he was dispossessed. Guess what? No card.

I firmly believe that since the introduction of VAR. There has been match fixing going on in the Premier League.

I am an American Arsenal fan and I just don't understand why the best League in the World has the worst referees. You all make the NFL referees look like saints. I get Arsenal can appeal and it will get overturned blah blah blah. But the fact is why wasn't VAR used during the match? It didn't even go to VAR, he just instantly approved it. I heard a caller on Talk Sport (I think) and he said he wasn't sure if the VAR official was afraid to question Michael Oliver because he is his boss. The English referees need to go to Germany and learn from the Bundesliga.

Oliver should not be a PL referee - he's a confirmed NUFC supporter and so can have a direct effect on their league position by penalising their rivals.

Another example I'd give is when Bruno G basically assaulted Jorginho on the pitch at Newcastle. VAR looked at it and gave the clearance. How does that have a place on the football pitch yet MLS challenge is instantly red carded?? They literally have no common sense the officials...

In 50 Man City games he hasn’t witnessed a single red card incident? Curious.

Match-fixing by the elites was difficult before, until they bought out VAR, so its a lot easier to manipulate the results now.
The clubs are not involved in the scam, and its clear to see.

Referees seem to think they lose authority and our respect if they change their decisions based on VAR but it's the opposite, we would actually respect them even if it goes against our team if it's a correct or at least consistent decision
