Βόλτα στο Κουρταλιώτικο με μοτοσυκλέτα, Riding in Kourtaliotiko Gorge, Crete in 4k

Το φαράγγι του Κουρταλιώτη ή Κουρταλιώτικο βρίσκεται στα νότια του νομού Ρεθύμνου, 22χλμ από την πόλη του Ρεθύμνου και έχει μήκος 3χλμ. Είναι ένα από τα εντυπωσιακότερα φυσικά αξιοθέατα του νομού Ρεθύμνου. Οι τεράστιες βραχώδεις πλαγιές του φαραγγιού φθάνουν τα 600 μέτρα και είναι γεμάτες ανοίγματα και σπηλιές, όπου ζουν σημαντικά είδη ορνιθοπανίδας. Από μέσα περνάει ο Κουρταλιώτης Ποταμός που πηγάζει από τον κάμπου του Αγίου Βασιλείου, διασχίζει το φαράγγι και εκβάλει στο διάσημο Φοινικόδασος του Πρέβελη, αφού πριν ενωθεί με το φαράγγι Φρατί. Στο τελευταίο του κομμάτι ονομάζεται και Μεγάλος Ποταμός.
The Gorge of Kourtaliotis is located 22km south of Rethymno and has a length of 3km. It is one of the most spectacular natural attractions of Rethymnon. The huge cliffs of the canyon reach a height of 600 meters and are full of openings and caves, where significant fauna species live. The canyon is crossed by the Kourtaliotis River which flows up to Lake Preveli, after merging with Frati Gorge. In its latest part it is called Big River.
