Velocity RC Cars Magazine Review of the Tamiya Monster Beetle 2015 Re-release. Do you remember 1986? Top Gun, Nintendo, and some other junk that nobody cares about! The Tamiya Monster Beetle was a version of the Black Foot that put a hard plastic Beetle body on the ladder frame chassis.

Our full review can be found in Velocity RC Cars Magazine #19. Words, video, pictures...it's all in there. The world's best selling digital-only RC Magazine.

I can't describe my infatuation with the Monster Beetle. It's irrational. I loved it as a prepubescent boy and I love it again as a 47 year old man-child. I just got my rerelease from Amain about a week or so ago. I opened the cardboard box and was instantly 12 years old again. I owned the OG version back in 86 or 87 then sold it after I got a "real rc car" (Schumacher CAT XLS) and forgot about this gem. I sold it to friend who moved out of state and never thought I'd see another one again. Thank You Tamiya for making this again. I'm giddy! I'm going to do a custom paint job inspired by some VW racing livery and mod it out with aftermarket upgrades like I always wanted to when I was a kid.

Great video and you got a new subscriber.

I really enjoy your videos, great commentary!! I had a Monster Beetle in the late 80s, and inherited my dad's 86 Lincoln MkVII LSC as a first car. And it was cool 😀.

Tamia is the best at sucky cars that make us happy! My very first Rc was the grasshopper! Man what a pain in the ass that thing was! But, it was awesome back then! Nice job Vrc!

Loved this video! I just reviewed it as well. I think you done a lot better job at capturing the spirit of it tho! It's hard to explain why we love stuff like this, the Lunch Box and the ClodBuster. Especially when it's sitting beside our 1/8 Race Buggies! LOL, But It has a place in our memories and always will! Thanks for the great video, Subscribed!

When I was a kid I begged my Dad to buy me a second hand M.B with a technigold off my wee mates big brother, but £120 for a second hand R/C was never gonna happen, got a radio shack black phantom (cool car) instead, but always hankered after a tamiya monster beetle, I'm 37 now, sod it, I'm gettin one!
