At first glance, the title "Formerly Known" will strike a chord with anyone who has been following Andy Mineo's music. Those who know about the name change from c-lite to Andy Mineo will get it, but that's not the only reason the mysterious title.

Each of us long to be understood, loved, known. Most of us spend a majority of our life pursuing people, places, and things that we believe can offer this kind of comfort. Andy's hope is that this project will point people to the answer to those longings. We were made to have fellowship with the God that created us and knows us better than we know ourselves. The God that knew us before we were formed in our mothers womb. The God that knows every hair on our head. The God that makes us a new creation.

"I share quite a bit about my past on this project. Much of the album is testimonial. Prior to coming to faith in Jesus, I was an enemy of God. I was my own king, I lived life opposing the loving commands God has given us. I was what the bible describes as "a child of wrath" - but through Christ saving work on the Cross, that is only what I am formerly known as. Now, I am a child of light, a friend of God. My prayer is that many would come to know this God that makes all things new."- Andy Mineo

I hate how people say that Christian rap sucks. Will first of all without the brain that God gave us no one would be able to create any rap. Praise our Lord and savior for giving us a voice yea secular music is popular but it wouldn't even be here without God.

I can relate, and it's really good in high school to find people like Andy Mineo to look up to and hear some words of wisdom from when you're feeling dry. For me, that's Lecrae, my pastors, leaders, and best friends. But remember, even when it's hard, 1 Christian in the crowd is the majority. You're voice matters, well the most, not because you're better, but God's given you words, a testimony. He's better, and those around you may not show it, but they desperately need you to speak up.

I like Andy's music because he talks about God in a very cool way. In High school its kinda had to talk about God because everybody likes to do what they hear on the radio, like do drugs or get as much money as you can. In Andy's music its a different story, He talks about God and expresses it through his music. Playing that to the students in high school really surprise them, some of them didn't like it, but for others, it really opened their eyes. thanks Andy for your music.
