This video will show you how to trim video clips with VideoPad video editing software.

You can trim the start or end of a clip on the Sequence by hovering the mouse over the start or the end of a clip. When the cursor changes to the resizing cursor, click and drag to the new start or end time.

This video doesn't tell you how to trim. It just tells you how to indicate new start and stop times or positions. But how do you actually TRIM?

DAMN IT! IT'S always the same! Why do none of these supposedly superior Video Editors not have a trim function similar to the one on Windows Live Movie Maker? I know it's old, but it was easy to use and you could cut it exactly instead of this inaccurate Mouse Trim method. Please tell me of a Video Editor that does this!

It trims the picture but not the audio so it ends up out of sync. Am having to use another program just so I can trim clips.

At min 0:53 I hate sometimes that it drags the adjacent clip to the left. Idk if theres a way like holding a sift or cntrl key to get it not to do that. Because I want a gap sometimes... For example if I have multiple clips after(1track) and I just want to shorten that one clip, it drags everything after with it! To the left and causes it to desync. I end up having to realign or moving the clip i want to "trim" over to another track on its own, trim it, then move it back to where it was at or leave it on its new track...

The trimming shown at 1:13 should work on the timeline also, not just on the Clip Preview window.

I have a video where I want to cut and paste parts of it into the pane above so I can just combine them and create one new video. Any help, please!

My video does not automatically "reposition". It just leaves blank space where the trimmed portion was. It's impossible to work like that. And trying to move the clips back together causes them to overlap instead of snapping together. It's a nightmare.

Save project > drop down menu - select 'Export as file' to save the trimmed clip with custom options. Your welcome :)

With Video Pad, if there is a problem with the software, there is no support at NCH that will help you. For the most part, this software works okay. When it doesn't, there's no place to go, except to a different piece of editing software.
