I have been using the Eastonmade ULTRA Log Splitter for 3 months - 4-way wedge and single wedge options. Hardwoods, softwoods, including some nasty, stringy Elm. I offer my initial views after 3 months working the splitter through the winter months. I hope it is helpful. Cheers!

I think the log lift is priceless. I'm not getting any younger and my back isn't getting any better.

I'm with the group that thinks the pusher needs to be a bit larger. Thanks for the great review.

upgrade to the larger pusher plate makes a big difference also i build up welding slag and sharpend the nubs make a big improvment i also welded a point on the top of my single wedge stops large rounds from climbing i also sharpend both my single and 4 way👍🏼

That is fast. My swisher is a lot slower. I did build the anvil plate up so I can push the cutter through the wood. The swisher deck was so cheesy I threw it away and built my own.

I'll just say this. I usually don't like youtube channels dealing with tractors because it is full of people trying to make some kind of channel to make money. Your channel is really educational and just helps me. You are not just making content to get views. You are actually teaching people.

Too bad there isn’t a gap between the push plate and the wedge. You could drill and bolt a bigger push plate onto the current push plate. Wonder why they made it so small?

I agree somewhat I don't think it needs to be any lighter but another inch and a half maybe two inches of height on that Pusher plate especially when you're using the 4-way wedge because the 4-way wedge automatically seems to start to tip the log up and then as you split it it's flipping over the back of the portion plate if that was just that inch maybe two in maximum or higher it wouldn't do that

The larger the pusher the less the logs ride up the wedge. Look at your old videos of the other Easton made splitters and see how the logs interact with the wedge with the large pusher. Then compare that to this splitter and see how the logs ride up the wedge and in some videos the almost flip up. For that reason and video evidence, my vote is a larger pusher.
