Today we tackle something I've been looking into doing for a long time and that is shooting medium format, I'll be taking along with me the Yashica Mat 124 i bought off eBay. This is my first time shooting loading and doing the whole process so a lot of this stuff was just a dip in to the endless waters of the medium. If you guys want to just see me shooting the camera the video starts at 4:02. I just wanna say thank you guys again for all the amazing support I have received over the last couple weeks. It's been a struggle putting out content and also working 40+ hours a week so i thank you guys for all the support and loyalty you guys have shown me. Stay lit #Kingjvpesfam

I know you posted this a year ago! But, you should do more medium format shooting!

Okay so the craziest thing about medium format cameras like that, that flip the image is that over time your brain will flip the image back to normal to you. So when I look into my Hasselblad it looks normal to me now even though it's backwards. Super weird.

That pic with the bike is A1 man. Thanks for showing us your introduction into medium format. Makes me want to transition into it myself!

Nice pictures! I came across your video looking for info on medium format cameras, especially the Yashica Mat. I been shooting film for 3 years now and I'm looking to jump on the medium format gravy train. What film did you use? I think some of the pictures were underexpose? maybe by one or two stops. Lots of the images had wide DOF, maybe go down 2 to 3 stops on your aperture that will help blur the background on some of the images.

Great format choice, bad coffee choice. I can't believe someone can be so smart on their format cannot have a couple of extra minutes to grind some beans, sir. 😉 With respect, giving up on quality coffee is giving up on life. Don't do it! You have so much to live for! 😉

Glad you enjoyed the TLR, they are great fun to use. You need a lens hood as they are notorious for lens flare due to the lack of modern lens coating. A hood greatly reduces the problem but you need to take care shooting into direct light.

Really dig this episode my man. I've been shooting medium format for about a year now and developing myself. I'm shooting rolleiflex and Mamiya 645. I've done a few reviews on my channel also of the cameras and a black and white film review. I'm curious why I don't see you shooting this camera more over a year after this was uploaded.

Very much enjoyed this video, thank you for sharing. For me the background music is pleasant, low key, and not at all distracting. Also, when you began talking the music stopped, thus with my aging ears listening to you I did not have to fight the music. Truly, that alone is extremely appreciated, thank you. Look forward to more of your videos.

Noooo! Tell me you don't really drink instant coffee!! Grind those beans man! Make it fresh!

Welcome to medium format! I've been shooting medium format since I was in high school (started with a Yashica Mat 124) and still love it. Now, I'll even shoot with an old Ansco (6x9) box camera from time to time just to keep me fresh.

Keep these videos coming! Love them.

I just aquired a Yashica Mat-124, just like yours with the light meter from my parents. They bought it for display about 30 years ago, they've never put film in it and I don't have a battery to test the light meter yet. I'm having trouble being able to tell if it's in focus or not. When I look down into the viewing glass and try to focus it I can't tell much of a difference. The lenses move in and out like they're supposed to but the image seems so far away and dim that it's hard to tell when the focus is right on. I still need to get film and try it out but I just wanted to touch on the focus part of it first.... Thanks for the video

Probably one of the sharpest lenses that just delivers beautiful results! I would have shot this in color just so you can see the rich tones it can produce. Love the video! :)

Hoody sounds good. Could we use the Canon F-1 New as the motif?

Did you buy this off of eBay?? People always say they can’t trust eBay but I’ve been dying to have this camera and that’s the only place I can find it!
