Here is why I swapped basically everything in my PC build - Lian Li, MSI and NZXT upgrades

I've recently decided to swap a bunch of stuff in my PC build to deal with a number of issues I've been having. My cooler was running loud, my CPU too hot, my audio kept being weird and my PC kept blue screening too. So these are the drastic measures I took to sort it.

I'm using a 14900k + Artic Liquid Freezer II 420 (with 6 fans on the radiator) + thermal Grizzly contact frame + AsRock Nova Wifi + 2 x 16gb - Gskill Trident Z5 7200. In 4 months i had no problems. This setup can hold this CPU under cinebench 24 with all power limits unlocked under 90 degrees Celsius.
No blue screens or a problems at all. Asus now is much more marketing than quality. Thanks for the video. Nice Looking build.

I would suggest that anyone swapping the contact frame does so with the cpu in place to protect the motherboard pins in case you drop anything onto them.

I got the Galahad LCD myself a couple weeks ago and it is absolutely louder than my previous Fractal design AIO.
i7-13700K Idles between 40-50c and sometimes jumps to 60c.
The pump is absolutely noticeable at any speed above 2200 Rpm.
Asked Lian-Li support about it and they just confirmed that the pump is indeed loud.

Your machine looks quite nice with the black and white colour scheme. I went for the same look when i built mine and im happy with it.

Great news! Definitely sounds like a motherboard issue. I completed my build 2 months ago or so and used your channel for some ideas. I went with a MSI motherboard as they have never failed me in any of my previous builds. I think it was your channel that introduced me to the Lian Li brand and in particular the Dynamic Evo XL. Thankfully I haven't had any issues thus far except for one set of connected Lian Li UNI TL LCD fans randomly stop spinning. They work for the most part but occasionally one or more in that connected set would stop spinning. The screen would remain functioning but the fan would stop. Checking the software, that group would not be showing up. A restart of the system would resolve it. I haven't really taken the time to troubleshoot it but hopefully in the near future.

I switched form Asus to MSI years ago for the same stability issues and haven't looked back since. MSI rocks !! Nice build. 😎

Great choice on the MSI Z790 Carbon motherboard, it's what I use in my main system. I run my 13900k nice & cool with an -0.1V adaptive offset.
I stopped buying Asus gear last year for a number of reasons, especially their appalling treatment of their customers, with warranty issues.

This video literally voiced my biggest fear. Stability issues!
I am due for a PC upgrade because my old machine can't keep up with these Unreal 5 games. So I've been shopping around for what I want to do for upgrades and MAN! So many freaking brands, choices, cases. Need to keep in mind airflow, cooling, compatibility of components with the case, with the motherboard, UGH!

My current PC is the most stable PC I've ever built. In the 8 years that I've owned my PC, I've only crashed a total of 5 times. That's pretty freaking amazing!

So now that I need to upgrade I am utterly petrified of buying the wrong components and then having to deal with returns and refunds and extensive amounts of troubleshooting. Luckily your videos do help assuage some of those fears but I have to admit to still being gunshy at pulling the trigger. Right now my goal is to upgrade the whole shebang, but I'm doing case/mobo/RAM/ and CPU. My current machine does AIO liquid cooling for GPU and CPU, so I'm hoping to keep that setup into the future build. But I have to admit I would be very upset if I build it wrong and create an unstable PC.

Love to see the troubleshooting steps and the behind the scenes action, thank you.

Likewise in my build. I had a full RGB build till I had to RMA my dead EK 360 AIO. Twice.

Decided it was time to check out the Arctic LF2 360 as a friend used one too for a couple months and didn't encounter any issue. Swapped out the fans to the Lian Li P28s and they're 🤌🏻.

I just built a 14900KS-based system so I'm familiar with some of the troubles. I went immediately from the get-go, with a TG contact frame, KPX paste, and I'm using the Asus Ryujin AIO, Asus Maximus Formula, and Kingston Fury 6000MT/S ram. Also went with the LianLi fans (your guide was excellent by the way) I had gotten my CPU stable in Cinebench and 3D Mark Port Royal at 6.1GhZ all core with a -.0350 V offset undervolt, but would crash or bluescreen in all games the instant the workloads were applied. Leads me to believe that the real test of stability is games such as BF2042, COD, and StarCitizen, not the actual benchmarks that are supposed to be stress testing. I ended up with stable 5.9 all-core with a very mild undervolt of -0.0025 and all Intel standards enforced, but slightly modified. (420A max is Intel Standard. Asus default setting is over 4000A and I ended at 430Amp, 350Watt Short and long duration) Temps always below 70 and I have very low fan curves. I'm happy so far.

Adrian, I’d be interested to see a video on the temperature differences of using a Thermal Grizzly - Carbonaut thermal pad in place of thermal paste in your main PC build if you’re able to make a video covering that topic, please. Didn’t even know this was a thing until you mentioned it in your latest video uploaded today. 👍🏻

Thank you.

i quit Asus motherboards 24 years ago lol why cause the instability to hold right the hardware and software, plus customer service sucks, ever since switching to MSI & Aorus Gigabyte never had a issue ever since, i have a new rig now with the I9 14900 KF CPU with the Aourus Master X board and 128gb of ram with 9 lian li sl infinity fans and all is alice in wonder land no blue screens no crashes on any software's and everything runs so smooth, just waiting on the arrival of my lian li Galahad II trinity 360 performance AIO for coldish purposes lol, keep up the good work Prawn with this wonderful videos, cause o u i bought the Lian Li evo xl Case which is the best i had ever try as a case for PC assembly

The coil whine is real on the G2 LCD.

I just completed my Lian Li build in the O11D Evo RGB. Your guide was so amazing walkthrough.

Only issue I’m having atm is trying to get the LCD to run off a 9pin USB 2.0 hub

I got the MSI Tomahawk MB in January, I run a AMD 7600 and a 7600 XT graphics system, I liked the MSI Board as soon as I saw it, the Bios is is straight forward and pretty obvious, I nearly bought the Carbon but really couldn't justify it, the problem of the Intel CPU running hot put me off straight away as I wanted to use a Phantom Spirit air cooler, its works extremely well and cost a ridiculously low price compared to an AIO. Intermittent faults are terrible to find, I know I did for a living for 45 years, when you change every thing but the paint and it still does it you know your in trouble, glad you sorted it.

I just made my first pc with an asrock x670 taichi mobo and a 7800x3d with -30 offset. Been running amazing and at like 40-50 degrees with an arctic liquid freezer iii 420mm aio. Did a full black/rgb (set to red) looks nice in the lian li o11d evo xl with 6 140mm reverse fans and a single 120mm in the back. The aio had its own and cba to spend more on 3 lian li fans than the whole aio itself

There’s a bunch of news articles coming out about current i9s being very unstable and crashing for lots of people. I returned 2 i9s, downgraded to an i7 and currently have no problems.

It's incredible the level of frustration in the p.c industry with sub par quality. I'm a system builder and the amount of double and triple handling, ive done since " the worldwide thing " is absurd. I genuinely feel the q.c went down because of demand, but has continued with the same q.c even though the demand is substantially lower. Keeping profits high and resellers and small business, left with the consequences.
