I am terribly disappointed that the Space Force didn’t adopt the “Imperial March” from Star Wars.

What a proud moment seeing so many hero's under one roof gave me chills. It must've been an honor to be present in the crowd.

I served 20 years Air Force, but when I've gone to the memorial day events such as this, it stand for all branches. Skiers, Marines, Seamen And Coasties, they are all my brothers and sisters, they are my family. I've stood with them in my 7 deployments and I stand with the in peace time.
They are my family and I love them all.

My family has a military history with my great-uncle Ed serving in the Army as a guard during the Nuremberg Trials, my great-uncle Joe, Ed’s older brother, serving in the Navy during World War II and seeing action in the Pacific Theater off the Japanese coast during merchant vessel escorts and the coordinated depth charge sinking of the Imperial Japanese submarines I-37 and I-48 along with escorting the mighty carrier Task Force TF58, rescuing one of her men while another ship rescued another. My maternal grandfather served in the Air Force but never saw action overseas. He passed away from cancer on February 16, 2005 aged 79 years. My great-uncle Jim was also a veteran. I’m not sure if this is accurate, but I believe Jim Anonie (my great-uncle Jim) was Army. My maternal grandfather was the only family member not buried. My great-uncle Ed passed away from congestive heart failure at age 90 on July 28, 2017 and was laid to rest with full military honors in Oval Cemetery. My great-uncle Joe passed away at age 94 on July 30, 2019 and was laid to rest with full military honors beside his beloved brother after his preplanned graveside service (he planned his own funeral when he was still living). And his other brother, my grampap, was laid to rest in 2014 not far from his brothers in the same grave his beloved daughter (my aunt Linda) was laid to rest in just over three years prior. I carried my grampap’s casket and rendered salutes at my great-uncle Ed and great-uncle Joe’s funerals. My buddy Harvey Fessler served first in the Merchant Marines, only to transfer to the Coast Guard for the remainder of his military service. His body was cremated and his ashes taken to Twin Hills Memorial Park for his graveside service. As his urn was carried to his grave, I held a salute as the urn passed by. Harvey was committed without military honors. His widow, Cheryl, kept his ashes and probably scattered them where Harvey would’ve wanted them scattered. She also kept my tribute to her late husband after I read it at the graveside service. I’m not going to say where Twin Hills Memorial Park is, so it’s going to be up to you guys to find it yourselves online. Oval Cemetery is a location giveaway if you live in Pennsylvania like me and have it as your closest cemetery. I’m signing up for Wreaths Across America, which is a program in which people pay to sign up and set wreaths at veteran graves in cemeteries across America.
