The Lemurian Continent was located in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. This is the first time human development was not centered at the poles.

Lemuria was a continent that existed about thirty-four million years ago, according to The Secret Doctrine, and was home to the third Root-Race. It was destroyed by volcanic fire and most of its land now lies under the ocean.
early lemuria
The extent and shape of the continent of Lumuria varied through its evolutionary cycle. During the early stages it was a sprawling island. According to HP Blavatsky :

His Sweta-Dwipa [the White Island], during the early days of Lemuria, stood out like a gigantic peak from the bottom of the sea; the area between the Atlas [in North Africa] and Madagascar was occupied by the waters until about the early Atlantean period (after the disappearance of Lemuria), when Africa rose from the ocean floor and the Atlas was half submerged.
Lemuria Media
The main continent of Lemuria at the peak of its development included part of what is now Asia and south towards the Pacific Ocean:

"Lemuria", as we have called the continent of the Third Race, was then a gigantic land. It covered the entire area of space from the foot of the Himalayas, which separated it from the inland sea by rolling its waves over what is now Tibet, Mongolia, and the great Schamo (Gobi) desert; from Chittagong west to Hardwar and east to Assam. From there it stretched south through what we know as South India, Ceylon, and Sumatra; then, hugging its way, as we proceeded South, with Madagascar on its right and Australia and Tasmania on its left, it descended to within a few degrees of the Antarctic Circle; when, from Australia, an inland region on the Mother Continent in those ages extended to the Pacific Ocean, not just beyond Rapa-nui (Teapy, ) However, the continent also extended to the North, showing the shape of a "horseshoe":

Lemuria, which served as the cradle of the Third Root-Race, not only encompassed a vast area in the Pacific and Indian Oceans, but extended in a horseshoe shape beyond Madagascar, around "South Africa" (then a mere fragment in formation process), across the Atlantic to Norway. The great English freshwater reservoir called the Wealden, considered by every geologist to be the mouth of an ancient great river, is the bed of the main stream that drained northern Lemuria in the Secondary Ages.
This "horseshoe" became the basis for the future continent of Atlantis :

No more striking confirmation of our position can be given than the fact that the HIGH RIDGE in the Atlantic basin, 9, 000 feet high, extending for some two or three thousand miles southward from a point near the British Isles, first descends towards South America, then changes almost at right angles to continue in a SOUTH-EASTERN line towards the African coast, from where it continues south to Tristan d'Acunha. This ridge is a remnant of an Atlantic continent and, if it could be traced further, would establish the reality of a horseshoe-shaped undersea junction with an ancient continent in the Indian Ocean.
The Atlantic portion of Lemuria was the geological base of what is generally known as Atlantis. The latter, in fact, must be considered more as a development of the Atlantic prolongation of Lemuria, than as an entirely new landmass raised to meet the special requirements of the Fourth Root-Race .
[Lemuria] extended, during the Third Race, east and west, as far as the two Americas now meet, and since present-day Australia is only a part of it, as are also some surviving islands strewn here and there, on the face of the Pacific and a large part of California, which belonged to him.
As evidence of this lost continent, Blavatsky refers to references in ancient legends in India, Greece, Madagascar, Sumatra, Java, Polynesia, and the Americas:

Both Malacca and Polynesia, which lie at the two ends of the ocean, and which, since the memory of man never had, and could never have coitus with, or even a knowledge of each other, still has tradition common to all the islands and islets, that their respective countries stretched far, far out into the sea.
She also refers to the similarity of the Oceanic languages as proof that these islands were once part of a common continent.

Towards the end of its cycle, "the giant continent of Lemuria began to break apart into smaller continents":

At the time we are dealing with, the Continent of "Lemuria, " had already split in two in many places, and formed new separate continents. However, neither Africa nor the Americas existed, let alone Europe in those days, all of them still sleeping in the depths of the Ocean. Nor was there much of present-day Asia; because the Cis-Himalayan regions were covered by seas, and beyond that stretched the “Lotus leaves” of Sveta-dwipa, the countries now called Greenland, Eastern and Western Siberia, etc., etc. The immense Continent, which once reigned supreme over India, Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, now consisted of huge islands that gradually disappeared one after the other, until the final upheaval engulfed the last remnants of it. Easter Island, for example, belongs to the oldest civilization of the Third Race. Submerged with the rest, a sudden volcanic upheaval from the ocean floor raised intact the small relic of the archaic ages, with its volcano and statues, during Champlain's time of north pole submersion, as a permanent witness to the existence of Lemuria. . Some of the Australian tribes are said to be the last remaining descendants of the Third Race.
Destruction
Following up on a reference in The Mahatma Letters, Blavatsky wrote:

Lemuria is said to have disappeared about 700, 000 years before the beginning of what is now called the Tertiary era (the Eocene), and it is during this Deluge—also a real geological deluge this time—that Vaivasvata Manu is shown again as saving the humanity (allegorically it is humanity, or a part of it, the Fourth Race, that is saved).
The length of the Eocene era in the 19th century was different from what scientists now believe. Blavatsky considered that it had begun less than 9 million years ago. Before the sinking of Lemuria, a group of people from the Third Root-Race were rescued by the Manu to form the seed of the Fourth Root-Race .

Blavatsky speaks of "the destruction of 'Lemuria' by subterranean fires" (volcanoes), which caused the continent to sink:

The enormous Continent, which had reigned supreme over the Indian, Atlantic, and Pacific oceans, now consisted of huge islands that gradually disappeared one after another, until the final convulsion engulfed the last remnants of it.
It mentions that the land to which Easter Island belonged was "destroyed in one day by volcanic fires and lava." Later, part of the land resurfaced to form the island we know today:

Submerged with the rest, a sudden volcanic upheaval from the Ocean floor raised the small relic of the archean ages intact, with its volcano and statues, during Champlain's time of north pole submergence, as a permanent witness to the existence of Lemuria.
Blavatsky also explained:

The sinking and transformation of Lemuria beginning almost at the Arctic Circle (Norway), the Third Race ended its run in Lanka, or rather what became Lanka with the Atlanteans. The small remnant now known as Ceylon is the northern mountain of ancient Lanka, while the huge island of that name was, in the Lemurian period, the gigantic continent described a few pages back.

my innerstanding is that some of the small countries around the pacific rim are fragments of the lemurian continent. NZ is one of these fragments.

Was this during the Old Moon phase of Earth`s evolution? Knowing that earth separated from old moon and old Sun? So therefore, Lemuria would be actually on the Moon? Which is why we see continent like shapes in the shaded spots of the Moon?
