Another issue is that I’m seeing people question whether they should still get into tech and they don’t realize their are so MANY companies aside from FAANG that you can work for. FAANG is where the big layoffs happened because shareholders love when you can do more with less. They can use that money to invest the same way Microsoft invested in Chatgpt etc etc. But don’t be discouraged. There are many roles in Tech that are technical and non-technical that you can learn skills in. Not every company had mass layoffs and some companies are still small enough to where they need more people.

Chat GPT has, and will indeed continue to cut out many unnecessary things. In fact, thanks to both you and Shane Hummus, I used it to expedite 60 Sophia Credits and a very questionable IBM 7 week cyber security coursera course, which allowed me to focus on learning and utilizing more important information like Professor Messer videos, Anki flash cards.

Chat GPT doing the leg work on useless higher education mandated curriculum will free me up enough free times to invest my energy into your course careers course. :)

I think the reason for more layoffs is because the inflation is high, people are getting hired and getting paid pretty high dollar, well that means everything is gonna be high dollar, but if their is layoffs, that will bring inflation down, kinda sucks

What's objective of these companies for using ai? If it's because it's going decrease human error then you probably wont see them hire more IT professionals.

Which means the jobs won't be cyclical.
