As a firefighter, I'd recommend you don't park your electric vehicle too close to your house, once they are alight we really struggle to put them out.

Of course it is. They can't ban them if we all say NO!!!

I think this is a spoof channel. 90% of drivers are keeping their old diesels/petrols which will last at least 20 years and not 10. "Reparing and servicing petrol and diesel cars could get more expensive and it may be harder to find the replacement parts" - the precise opposite will happen in response to market demand. By contrast for example, there are just 4 VW EV specialist service centres across the entire UK ! Finally, EV insurance is eye-wateringly expensive - no wonder there is a specialist insurance co. to serve the 'sandal-wearing' market segment.
Enjoy the huge premiums guys xx

So what does green really mean? is it the hypocritical idea that as long as we don't pollute in our own western cities it's alright that people(adults and children) are treated horribly in Congo, mining cobalt? is it that as long as the lithium production doesn't happen here it's okay that it pollutes the local water reserves? or is it that the 16000 tons of CO2 produced from a 80kwh battery doesn't matter because it's done it China? For Co2 cost of a 80kwh battery and the charging of it, I can drive around 200.000km in my diesel car using dirty fossil based diesel(b7). Now my car can also drive on other fuels, such as XTL(HVO, GTL etc.), but we don't talk about that, because then you couldn't call it a fossil car as those are not fossil fuels. It is much easier to get the public behind banning something if they think it only runs on dirty oil.

Perfect time to buy a Land Cruiser, it should last a good 25 years if taken care of. However, it will only make sense if diesel will be readily available for 25 years. It is a tough call.

It's not about climate change, pollution or anything else related to that, it's probably not about collecting more taxes from new vehicle sales either. This is the end of the oil abundance. That's why they want to make it impossible for the majority of the population to use private vehicles in many ways.
Old vehicles being banned in many countries, areas with less polluting gases, very low speed limits like 20 mph or 32 km/h in some regions of England, increased taxes for older vehicles using climate justification and several other things. Everything to make it difficult, unfeasible, bad, to have a car and keep it.
They don't want the majority of the population, who are poor, to drive around in their old cars consuming the oil that is running out. They want only them to use petroleum in their luxury cars, or electric cars that only they can buy. Let the common people ride the bus. Oil will be saved in this way to last longer to be used to plant, harvest, transport infrastructure maintenance equipment, etc, etc, etc...
Did you understand?
By 2050, only 25% of gasoline or ethanol cars will be allowed to circulate and the majority will be used for essential services.
Almost all private vehicles in the future will be banned.

I cant see them sticking to the ban, electric car prices are still extortionate and the current economy and inflation is rough for everyone.

Surely the inverse is true. Demand for ICE cars will still be there, supply will be lower and therefore prices will rise. Everyone is going to be keeping old ICE car running by repairing them.

It's important to remember that despite heavy subsidies and incentives the past 10 years, we've managed to transition just 3% of cars to EVs, that's basically a pointless exercise. The incentives for buying an EV are going away in 2 years, so we will see this already snail pace adoption slow or stop. The 2030 ban is now 2035 and will likely become a 2050 ban and then the net zero agenda will likely be scrapped.

You’re better off buying diesel or petrol for the next several decades, either new or second hand. Hopefully another technology comes about as EVs have many inherit drawbacks.

No point buying a car that you wont be able to insure in Australia by 2027 is the most radical target.

Outright lies that EV's are better for the environment, even Volvo has said they are worse overall

Electric cars are only better for the environment after 60 to 100k miles. The problem is the batteries need changing way before then restating the cycle all over again. So in the end they are far worse for the environment.

Petrol prices be nice when all the sheep buy electric cars and fuel demand drops 😅
