This is how questions should be asked. She clearly stated what she didn't quite agree with or understand while staying professional, calm, and unaggreasive, and then listened intently for an answer. Well done!

I really appreciate how she handled posing this question. Just asking for clarification on a point without it being contentious or combative.

One of the most well-formulated and delivered questions I've ever heard from an audience member. Intelligent and respectful

I’d like to see more of the conversation. Context is everything.

At least she’s honest, most of the cretins interviewing him can hardly tie their own shoelaces

What may not appear clear is that in the book he writes that chaos is "traditionally depicted" as feminine, in the same way as order is "depicted" as masculine.

This is a representation that doesn't depend by him (him= JP), but by centuries of human artistic expression.
This ain't to say that women are intrinsically chaotic, nor that men are the only capable of bringing order, but that the balance between the two is where humanity yields the best of its potential - where the diversity between individuals produces the best outcomes.

Also as he says that it's a complete misconception to think that chaos = bad and order = good.
Order means to build upon what's known, to get predictability, chaos means to introduce randomness, to search where we haven't searched yet - to explore what is uncharted.

We cannot build a society on chaos, nor we want a society where nothing new happens.

I hope to have understood the message correctly 😁😁
So "an antidote to chaos" doesn't mean "you need men to keep women from being chaotic", it means that you need a healthily balanced society, where roles given by DIFFERENT personalities matter.

The interviewer was precise in a valid question, without any appeal to emotion or attempting to turn into a loaded question. 10/10

I remember years ago listening to this talk as I was working out and when this question came up I thought "Damn, that's actually a really good question". And I also remember not being persuaded by Jordans reply. It was a pretty long reply, too. She really gave him something to think about.

Kudos to a well formulated interview question - precise in their critisism of Jordan. She tries to understand his motive instead of assuming bad faith.

In Tarot, the Empress represents abundance and unbounded creativity and the Emperor represents structure and control. They need to balance EACH OTHER to achieve one’s highest potential. You push too hard in one direction and the other direction pushes back harder. Too much of either results in destruction.
